We stayed here at this B & B on Saturday night after attending a wedding on the Lough Rynn estate. The approach to the property is magical, lined with tall trees and woodland. The first thing we saw on arrival in the afternoon apart from the picture perfect house was Elsie a German Shepherd who was the biggest softy and came over wagging her tail to greet us.
Dara the owner couldn't have given us a warmer welcome offered us tea, etc. Unfortunately we were late for the church so had to run.
Our room hadn't it's own bathroom so we shared with one other room and it was just across the hall. A beauiful bathroom with absolutely everything one might need laid on.
Our bedroom wasn't the biggest but was perfect for one night. We had towellling gowns and a view onto the beautiful garden at the back. The bed, a standard double was very comfortable and the house really quiet.
We decided on another hour's sleep so missed our full Irish breakfast however the smell wafting from the breakfast room would made an hour's sleep a waste. We arrived down very late and still Dara insisted on giving us cereal, yoghurt, home made brown bread and banana loaf. Nothing was too mcuh trouble. All the days papers and lots of current magazines were on hand too. The cottage/ house is 200 years old and has been extended and beautifully and fittingly decorated. A path through the woods leads down to a lake and the only noise is birds and insects. It's idyllic and I coulnd't recommend it highly enough

My husband and myself stayed in Brooklawn house last week and I have to say the experience was excellent. Usually we stay in hotels but this would make you say forget the bland, utilitarian hotel in favour of Brooklawn's old world charm and welcome. We arrived late Thursday night and were welcomed by the owner Dara and her multitude of home-made scones, brown bread, sandwiches, cake, and as much tea/coffee as you could drink. The room was beautiful and the whole house is very tastefully decorated by Dara and her love of antiques.
The next morning we were treated to a lovely breakfast of home-grown strawberries, fruit, yoghurts, cereals, more home-made bread, pancakes and of course the quintessential full Irish. The B&B is on about 5 acres of grounds including a walled garden and access to the lake. This really is a find! Located right next to Lough Rynn castle, it is the perfect place for relaxation and/or exploration.
