We stayed in the tent at Jungle Paradise. It's a lovely scenic place to relax, enjoy nature and the simple life. Food is the best, especially the breakfast roti with sweet pumpkin curry.
Rukmal is an awesome and knowledgable host who speaks great English. He helped us out tons by driving us around in his Tuktuk and in trying to retrieve our lost items. He had great recommendations of what to see in the neighborhood. He arranged a scooter for us to travel around an few days and it was no problem to leave our big bags at his place meanwhile. Thank you so much for everything!
The name says it all - it's a paradise in the jungle around Habarana. This hidden gem is for those who wanna escape the hustle and bustle for a minute, and get back to the basics of life.
I loved it all. From sleeping in the treehouse, showering under the stars and chilling in the hammock, to playing carrom with friends, visiting local farmers and the BEST veggie food made on site by this cute neighbour lady. The beautiful garden, solar powered electricity, cutely lit up paths at night and reggae playing in the background are all plusses as well. This place reminds me of the importance of natural simplicity.
Everything is made & run by Rukmal and friends, all genuinely kind people who makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Rukmal has a lot of knowledge about the area (and birds!), his English is great and he can seemingly arrange everything you want eg. tours and transfers.
I've been here 3 times now and can't wait for the next trip!
