The public areas were well maintained but the furniture in the room was not well maintained, scratched and marked. The plug in the bathroom vanity was broken and water would not drain. The owner was very rude and arrogant. His behaviour made our stay very unpleasant. We will return to Bad Ischl but not to Landhotel. Hotel staff compensated for owners rudeness and were mostly very pleasant.

The hotel is ideally placed in Bad Ischl. Minutes away from the bus and train stations and the town centre.
This is a family run hotel with a happy and helpful team.
The breakfast buffet is superb and the evening meals are varied, tasty and very filling. As in all Austrian hotels, the soups are a speciality.
The small pool and sauna area is very good for relaxing after a day exploring. Do go to Halsaat if you have time.

My wife and I traveled across Austria from Vienna to Salzburg, staying at European 4-Star hotels, and this one falls in the middle of the group. There were some positives, with a great location in downtown Bad Ischl (walking distance to any shop or restaurant), free parking, and an on site restaurant. Our room had clearly had an upgrade to the bathroom and shower with modern frosted glass doors, tiling and appliances.

However, there were some shortcomings to be aware of. First, free wifi was offered but the signal was too weak in our room to be used comfortably without alot of dropped connections. The furniture in the bedroom looks like something a grandparent would have bought 50 years ago with everything being wooden. No air conditioning or even a fan provided to help cool the room if it does get too hot. And the breakfast buffet did not offer cooked eggs (i.e. scrambled, sunny side, etc.), just hard boiled eggs, unlike other 4-star hotels in Austria.

Out of all the European 4-star hotels we stayed on our trip, this one was one of the better ones, but needs just a few more upgrades before I would consider this a great value for money in the 4-star hotel range.

We stayed here on the first night of a walking holiday. The room was OK a bit the worse for wear needing a bit of TLC. The service and attitude a bit regulated and the food was edible but not great. It is not the worst but I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Look for another hotel, I am sure you can find better for the price.

A group of 4 couples spent the second week of an Operetta Tour of Austria in this lovely hotel in bad Ischl. The owners, Herr & Frau Panhuber could not have been more helpful from the moment we arrived to the time of our departure. Local advice was readily given. Hotel is centrally situated, 2 minutes walk from main shopping street or supermarket, and about 5min walk from the main train and bus stations.
First class breakfast with a wide choice of meats, cheeses and pastries in addition to fruit juices, cereals and jams. Hotel also owns the small cafeteria on the ground floor which is ideal for lunches or light snacks. Dinner in the hotel is well-worth experiencing - the quality of the meat and fish dishes is superb. Would readily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bad Ischl.

Room Tip: Top floor has rooms with conservatory/TV lounge area. Most other rooms have a balcony.
