We checked out of a nearby hotel to stay here for 1 night, only because our kids wanted to play in its water park - turned out to be pretty much the only thing we like about this hotel. Pros: the water park is great. Fun for all age range of kids and adults. Cons: the room is not clean at all and there was a weird smell in the room when we walked it. Dinner at the Restaurant Library - the food was mediocre and the service was poor. Would not stay here again.

Hello,

First I would like to thank you for giving us your feedback about your stay at the Explorers Hotel.

Of course we are happy that your children had fun at the aquapark.

Concerning your remark about the room, we are really sorry and I will share your comment with our housekeeping staff.
We are really sorry too that you were disappointed by your dinner at the Captain's Library but to be honest with you, this is not usual for us to get such a comment. Most of our guests are really satisfied by the quality of their dishes in this restaurant. But of course we are taking your remarks into account.

Thanks again. Best regards,

Aude - Marketing Department

This was brilliant, not sure why the bad reviews by some people but each to there own. We stayed here last wk for four nights. 2 adults 2 kids in a room with double bed and bunk beds.
The hotel is brilliant, great pool area for kids and play areas. The breakfast was busy but plenty of food and choices. Pizza place was lovely. Rooms were small but grand for sleeping, telly had loads of English channels, BBC etc,
Staff were excellent, special thanx to Andrew (I think was his name) English guy on reception who gave us perfect details of how to get train into Paris and we're to get off etc, and what tickets to buy.
Will go again and defo stay here. Thanx for a great stay.

Room was cleanes to the most basic standard. One day bed wasnt even made and floor not hoovered.
2 toilet rolls for a 6 person family room.
Food was absolutley HORRENDOUS. The night time buffet costs you €25 Euros for fatty meat and a very basic choice.
Breakfast is like a cattle drive....go early to avoid the stampede of people who behave like animals. Only continental.....its extra for a cooked breakfast.
I cant fault the staff...they were all pleasant and helpfull.
The pool is FREEZING and you can only go in with Speedos?? So my 8 year old little boy was extremely disapointed that he couldnt go in as we only packed trunks and they refused him entry. You can buy their trunks but I thought it was a bit of a con to be honest. I cant see how trunks are un hygenic yet girls could swim in frilly swimming costumes.
The main area had a play boat which is a great idea but there was yoghurt and dust all over it and never saw it cleaned. There was also children behaving like orangutans swinging and jumping all over it. So if you have small children they WILL get hurt through ignorance of parents and staff who fail to stop such behaviour.
There is a free shuttle to Disney every 15 mins which is by far the best bit of the hotel. But that is like also a cattle drive so go early for a seat or you will be squashed in and your ankles skinned by people with prams or standing on your feet. Its dangerous how many people they let on that bus.
Vending machines which you need a mortgage to use €3 for a bottle of water and no option for anything else and hotel is isolated and no grocery shop close......pack your own stash of food and drink.
I took €300 for a 3 day trip and spent the lot on food and drink.
The park itself is amazing and worth the money for entry but again go early to save waiting 2 hours for a ride...fastpass is a life saver.

No fridge in room, if you want one you need to reserve one. We never had the chance. Cleanliness of room poor. Our beds were caked in dust upon arrival and it took 2 requests to get them changed. Beds are hard, lop sided and the pillows are nearly half the size of your regular adult pillow.

Bare minimum of cleaning is done. So most things are dusty, bugs were squished on walls and left there. Room was really warm, no air con, just a big fan that also had it's share of dirt.

Bought the all you can eat buffet which was rubbish. Food had all gone cold,, staff looked fed up and certainly not worth the cash. After 11pm that's your lot, no 24hr tuck shop, nowhere to get a warm drink from, so your left with whatever you brought with you in your room.

Toilet was cracked and had a leak, so wet feet whenever we went to the bathroom. And considering they only supply 2 small toilet rolls for a room of 6, it meant another trip to reception to get more.

And overall, not a lot to do. Kids will have fun, there is a pool, playgrounds, pirate ships etc and that's open til late. And while they are off playing you can sit in your room and watch tv, as that's all there is.

There is a Casino store within a 20 minute walk. Find it, stock up, and save yourself some cash.

Shuttles are quite regular though, and that's really the only good part of the hotel.

Hello,

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Of course we would have prefered a better feedback. We are sorry to read that you were not satisfied by the cleanliness of your room. All rooms are cleaned before our guests' arrival and controlled by our staff so it should not have happened and we owe you an apology. We hope that you have informed our staff about the leak so that we can fix the problem. Anyway I will share your remark about your room with our housekeeping staff.

Our all-you-can-eat buffet is renewed every evening and prepared by our Chef and his staff with fresh and seasonal products. Food is supposed to be kept warm in special dishes so sorry if it was not the case. I will pass on your remarks to our restaurant staff so that they can check this point.

We are happy that you appreciated being so close to Disneyland Paris with our free shuttle buses.

We hope to welcome you back to offer you a better experience and get back your trust.

Best regards,

Aude - Marketing Department

This time we stayed for longer, 5 nights. We had a room with a double bed and bunk beds and a travel cot for the baby which was extremely cramped. The window was open when we came into the room and it opened all the way and we were on the 3rd floor this worried me the whole holiday. The room was dark and even with all the lights turned on it was hard to see! It also had an odd musty smell. We were there mainly for disney so just got on with it. We requested a fridge which we got for the baby's milk. The pool was closed for maintenance for the first two days but after that the pool was open from 8am which was an improvement from last time. It was extremely busy. Breakfast was a nightmare and 2 mornings we actually didn't bother. The staff were quite off, not like last time. We unfortunately did not enjoy the hotel as much as our last trip mainly due to the room and the sheer amount of people in the hotel. Next time we visit disney we hope to try another hotel.
