If you don't want the hustle of the main strip in Macau and want to spend some wind down time with family then this is the lace for you. The staff are exceptionally gently and kind and the rooms are large.
Admittedly not as swanky as some of the Westin's we have stayed in but also the price is a lot less too, which should be considered in the deal.
It was lovely to be away from the disparity of the glitz next to the run down local buildings in the main centre of Macau and it is easy to grab a cab to the local fishing village which serves amazing Portuguese food as does the local restaurant just off the beach next to the resort.
Breakfast was great with plenty of choices and we also opted for food in a couple of times - once again not flashy but really relaxing.
Some aspects are a little run down but the staff are genuine which counts for a lot. Make sure you grab the free shuttle on arrival at the ferry terminal.

It's quite remote from the casinos but there is a shuttle every 30 mins stopping at taipa city centre, ventian and Macau ferry terminal - had a balcony facing the sea which is superb !
Beds are soft and comfy !
Rooms can be renovated though as bits of wallpaper were ripping off!

Dear Vauled Guest,

Thank you for sharing the review from your last stay with us.

I am delighted to learn that you enjoyed the balcony where you can take a deep breathe and embrace clam by overlooking the South China Sea. Our unique product – Heavenly Bed is tailored made to rejuvenate the body and spirit of our guests. I hope you felt refresh and renewed after a restful sleep.

We appreciate your comment in particular to the wallpaper condition. We indeed, have put additional resources in terms of manpower to uplift the overall ambience of the hotel. At the same time, we also realize that more is needed in terms of a complete overhaul, in order to enhance the level of comfort for our guests.

We are looking forward to create another enriching travel experience for you.

Be inspired.

I have stayed at the Westin on numerous occasions over the years for both leisure and business purposes. Most recently I stayed with my family and friends over the Xmas/New Year period. Amidst the new and somewhat glitzy hotel offerings in Macau, the Westin stands out and not always for the right reasons. Located on Coloane, you are sufficiently detached from the hustle of the Cotai strip and Macau Peninisula to be able to relax and unwind a little. There are plenty of low key places to eat in the area and of course, a great golf course on the premises. The hotel offers a deal in which you get a round of golf and one nights accomodation, which is excellent value for money. Golf at the Macau Country Club is a not to be missed. Unfortunately, time and climate is taking its toll on the premises, which are overdue for mainteance work. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful but he impression is that there are not enough of them to be able to offer a 5 star service.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for sharing the experience of your last stay and I am pleased to learn that we are your hotel of choice in this area.

We are proud to provide a unique travel experience like no others in Macau. Just minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Macau, it is a perfect getaway for a renewing sleep, energizing workout, nourishing foods and clean, fresh air. All enable our guests to preserve wellness during travel.

Conveniently accessible from the top floor of the hotel, guests may challenge 18-hole par 71 course or just sharpen their skills with a little ocean swing practice. Either way, guests will marvel at the unique ocean-side setting of our golf facilities.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family back in the near future for another relaxing stay.

Be Well.

My family spent one night at the hotel over the Christmas holiday. It used to be one of our favorite places in Macao (a welcomed break from the city's craziness). But this stay was very disappointing. I don't think that we will won't to return.

Nothing went terribly wrong but everything was not perfect. The room looks very old and tired; bellboys/receptionists are confused as to who should help with the luggages; cafe at the lobby level was just sad. The room doesn't come with DVD player and wifi. My husband is a gold member at Starwood. When asked if we can get wifi for free, the mgmt told us unless we were platinum member....it's just ridilous to find any 5-star hotels which are still not providing free wifi.

Given all the strong competitions that are coming into Macao, I am very surprised that Westin mgmt feels so much at easy or has simply given up?

The staff is very nice and helpfull, exept the unfriendly lady who answers the service-telefone. We had an upgraded room which means we had at least good beds. The bathroom was OK too. But other than this it iwas a major dissappointment. The house is old and rundown and has absolutely nothing to do with a 5-star-resort. It is not worth to go in any details. This house damages the brand name of Westin.
