We enjoyed a wonderful week at this quirky yet luxurious hotel with our one-year-old boy.
Much of the main reception area is set into the rock of the mountainside giving the building an ancient feel.
The grounds are fabulous, with elaborate water features and hidden courtyards full of pretty flowers.
There are two spacious pools boasting spectacular views and surprises at every turn, including a chapel and archaeological site within the grounds.
Our boy had lots of fun exploring the outdoor chessboard and loved to crawl across the bridge over the indoor stream.
Food absolutely delicious, with huge variety and different dishes offered each night.
Half board plus was well worth the extra money. The house red wine was lovely and I was brought a whole bottle each night even though I was the only one drinking it.
The waiters were happy to serve my partner as many soft drinks as he liked.
The hotel is opposite a shopping centre with restaurants and a supermarket and it’s a five to ten minute walk from the harbour.
I was disappointed I did not have the time to experience the Michelin starred restaurant on site or the spa, which looked beautiful, but I hope to return.
Other reviewers have mentioned there are two dinner sittings. We found this slightly inconvenient as the first was too early and the second too late.
However, being able to swap dinner for lunch for no extra charge was a great option.
Only other slight annoyance was the air con was not very strong and it was too noisy on Friday and Saturday nights for us to have the balcony doors open.
Overall, this is an amazing place we would love to revisit soon.
