Rainy Sunday evening in Caldas da rainha.. We decide to try Sabores D'Italia (told that it is one of the best restaurant in the area). We selected Sopa de Marisco, Peito de Pato, Espadarte, lombinhos de porco, melao com presunto. We tried he wine Autocarro 49. I always try the duck anywhere I go, but this breast was good not my favorite.
Excellent service by Norberto, expensive for the area, but it seems to atract large groups.

We had dinner only one evening when staying in Caldas. My wife need glutenfree meals, that was not a problem at all. I had Grandmothers lasagne, which was good, but grandmother had probably been busy, as the pasta was not cooked entirely to perfection. The chef is graduated from a hotel management school in Switzerland, and know his business (although he runs an Italian restaurant he had never been to Italy).

Started going here 14 years ago, this is the BEST place in the whole area, we used to live 3 miles away and went on a regular basis, we returned this August after moving to New York to live to find it is still amazing, and still remembered by the owners which was very touching, this is top restaurant, the owners are wonderful and the food is fantastic, a must go to eatery if you are anywhere near - book. The wine selection is amazing and prices to fit all budgets. If you want 1st class food, in a great setting, with superb service, this is your place. Sabores D Italia could easily hold its own in Italy, London, Paris etc if you like great food you will not be disappointed.

The menu of the day was excellent - three courses and a glass of wine for €16 - wonderful flavours, great service, simply the best place in town. We will be returning!

My family and I visited this past July and by far our best meal was at Sabores D'Italia. Starting from the chef recommended appetizers of roasted figs with fresh goat cheese and nuts, through the main course of a flavorful risotto with fresh cod flakes centered with an olive pâté, and finished with a sinful dessert, this was a meal to remember. All the servers were extremely friendly yet professional and the recommendations were spot on. Definitely a place we will return to.
