Everyone who has ever watched The Quite Man knows Pat Cohan’s Bar from the movie. So when you are walking down in the village being able to step inside and eat in the bar is very appealing to a fan of the classic movie. Problem is, this Pat Cohans pub was never really in the movie—well the exterior was at least. However, the bar does give you the feeling that Sean Thornton and Squire Danagher could come walking in at anytime and step up to the bar.

All that aside, the food was very good. The atmosphere was nice, and the staff were friendly. It’s also a very welcoming local pub that you ‘d feel comfortable taking your family to. So if you are hungry and want to wash down a pint then stop in and enjoy yourself.

Great food and good service! It is right in town and has a historic feel. It is worth a visit. Try the open face sandwiches.

As appealing as it is to visit a filming location for "The Quiet Man", Pat Cohan's could stand on its own even without the Hollywood connection.

First of all, the place is absolutely beautiful. Nice and cozy, not pretentious, and very inviting. Next, the service was just lovely....flawless, in fact. And the food? Fantastic. We shared an order of the roasted chicken....in a word, wow! Perfectly seasoned and very juicy...probably one of the best we've ever had.

Yes, it was pretty cool to stand at the same bar John Wayne stood at. But honestly, that's only a small aspect of what makes Pat Cohan's special. The food and service are ultimately the most important part of a dining experience. In that, they excel.

I enjoyed my fish dish but the chips were cooked in an oil that was rancid. My husband ordered a burger and chips and his chips were totally different to mine. When I asked the waiter to change my chips and the reason why, he told me that the oil could not be rancid because they change their oil every day……. I mean really!
