Fabulous barely begins to describe how wonderful the accommodations and service was. The 2 bedroom suite was stunning, with it's own soaking pool. There were specific locations available only to members of Grand Luxxe that included pools, beach clubs, and restaurants. Everything we ate and drank was delicious. The spa is a must, couple massages wonderfully relaxing. The gym was well appointed with a trainer available. Stretching exercises daily at the pool, and additional yoga classes if you really want to exercise. Walking trails wind throughout the property, with shuttles available for those who would prefer to be driven to each location. Most importantly, the staff was amazing, attentive and very helpful. What a wonderful vacation, so happy I was able to go, and so sad to leave. I would recommend this property to the most descending traveller. not to be missed!

This resort is incredibly beautiful and luxurious. The one bedroom suites have a shower that 10 people could fit into and the hot tub is wonderfully deep. One of the nicest features the rooms have is the plunge pool. It is a small private pool on the patio.

We are residence club owners. June 2015 was our first visit to this location in years. It is such a big resort that getting around takes time, but if you get impatient, there is a pool nearby every time! The new beach area and pool for the Luxxe members was outstanding!

Room Tip: All halls are open air, so get suites closer to the shuttle stop.

In general the whole resort is very well kept, clean and maintained daily. There are jungle zones nearer the highway and golf course, and lago zones nearer the pools. Plenty of other reviewers provide great details about the amenities.

We stayed in a 2-bed villa in tower 2; incredibly spacious accommodation with an additional den with small fridge and microwave - we were at the end so this had it's own balcony. The nicest aspect is the massive teak balcony with a plethora of seating and a delightful plunge pool. The towers are only 3 storeys high, have lifts, laundry on each floor (get a card from the concierge $10 for wash & dry plus returnable deposit) and ice machines. The large, spacious walkways within are open to the triangular jungle setting and exude calm!

I highly recommend a grocery trip to stock up with huge water bottles, snacks and breakfast items as a minimum. We like to mix eating in/out for variety. This is not an all-inclusive resort, however all purchases are charged to your room and paid upon departure (even eating out all the time is still cheaper than the equivalent all-inclusive charges elsewhere).

The new Luxxe lobby is a delight - a gracious welcome after travelling, and even nicer to see Paul still there! As a side note, however, even though we've owned here for several years) it would be nice to unpack and settle in before being approached to attend an "update" - SALES/ACCOUNTS take note!

Last year's installation of hardwood walkways really enhances your journey from A to B, and the shuttles for Grand Luxxe can be on-demand, if you want.

The Luxxe pool is a very chic setting, surrounded by lush plantings and intimate relaxing zones between it and the beach area - great for shade. There are games on the beach, additional seating areas, all serviced by the pool bar staff.

The pool concierge takes great care of everyone - popsicles, glasses cleaning service.. you name it! There is also a selection of books and games for further entertainment. The new Beach Club, exclusive to Grand Luxxe and Grand Bliss guests, is the primary site of the Joy squad games, although bingo was available at the Luxxe pool at 5pm - as the restaurant & bar are now closing at that time again, it seemed poorly planned.

We missed Maria spoiling us with coffee in the mornings, but wish her all the best in her role as concierge at Mayan Palace! I see from a recent review that we'll have to dine at Azur to say hi to Daniel!

We ate at Del Lago, Burger Custom Made (food is always superb!), Azur for breakfast - excellent the first time, OK the second, Chiringuito (not very authentic Spanish and very overpriced for what you get), Balche poolside - very slow service given the low number of guests around - and Nektar, outside the Joya theatre - fantastic!

We highly recommend you see the Joya show - with our ages from 15-75 we all loved it!

Rooms are immaculate, day and night service will ensure beds are made/made up and dishes taken care of. All staff endeavour to make your stay a great one.

If it will be your first visit, be sure to get your copy of the Mayan Times at check-in and browse the in-room directory to check out what's open when for meals.

It's great to see all the improvements that have occurred since our first visit in 2009 - looking forward to the next installment or our next visit, whichever comes first!

We just returned from another wonderful vacation at the Luxxe. The new French restaurant, Azur, was a delight. My husband and I went twice for breakfast (brunch) and twice for dinner. We were happy to see a familiar waiter Daniel. We remember him from Burger Custom Made. He is very personable and helpful. The manager, Johan Duque, was attentive. The Jazz band and the solo piano player (alternate evenings) were nice touches, too. We hope to see them all again in the near future!
