We booked in this hotel for a weekend, on 4-6th August, We booked it early in June and the price was reasonable to a total 210 euro for a ground spacious room with a grass patio in front. the room was clean and comfortable, but the insulation was not good enough, so you could hear the voices of the next door people. The gardens, the swimming pool and the beach was attractive, and the service at the outside bars was good, The food at the beach taverna was tasty and enjoyable under the shadow of palm trees. There was provision for children and handicap entertainment, and aquafitness training in the pool. The breakfast was basic, orientated to accommodate mass visitors with full board passports. I knew this hotel from older times, and I was happy to see that there was a trend to improve the standards of the mamagement.

After reading the other reviews I was expecting the worse, but after a week there it wasn’t as bad as I was semi-expecting. Our room faced the ocean and the view was outstanding, loved sitting out there every morning. Room was also cleaned everyday and new towels were provided. The air conditioner worked great, and only one night did it make an annoying noise that woke me up. The grounds are beautiful, well kept, and it’s right on the beach which was gorgeous. You pretty much have a whole beach line to yourself since there’s no other hotels close by. The pool bar opens at 11am and if your all inclusive ( which is what we were) they serve soda, juice, and cocktail drinks. Ice cream from noon to five. There’s no entertainment at night but the activity staff really try their best to do something at night with the kids or with the adults. But like others have stated, there’s nothing happening at night, and there’s nothing even remotely close by. VERY quiet.
At the front desk we found Giannis very friendly and helpful , as well as a woman with dark short hair ( didn’t catch her name). However the Swedish woman seemed very unhappy no matter how many times I tried to be friendly and smile at her. I can see where people would be put off by her attitude. As well as the woman running the shop....miserable! Only a small handful of staff at this hotel are pleasant , the rest give the impression that they don’t want to be there.
I think the reason we would not return is because it’s not around anything and It’s as though they’re on a strict budget trying the scrimp on everything. You only get one device free on WIFI , the rest you have to pay for. The lounges out on the beach are an extra cost as well as the mini golf, pool table and tennis.

We just came home from visiting MENDI Hotel in Halkidiki.
The garden and the beach is beautiful but the room we stayed in was very run down and the carpet was very stained. The food was nice.

There were one or two staff personnel that were nice and would say hello to us but the rest were very unwelcoming and unfriendly and never said hello to us unless we greeted them first, they made us feel as if they were angry at us for bring there...very strange atmosphere in the hotel.

But the worst thing was when we asked for a glass of tap water after our dinner and they refused to give it to us and told us that if we are not happy to go complain to the reception. We have spent hundreds of pounds to stay at Mendi and the least they can do for their guests is to give them a glass of water!!

So just to conclude Mendi is not a welcoming place and very money hungry. The safe cost us €16 for 10 days. The gym is €3p/h. You need to pay for sunbeds by the beach. At least the wife was free of charge.

We love Greece but wouldn't go to Mendi again. If you want to feel welcomed then don't choose Mendi as you will regret it.

We just came back from a 10 day holiday in Mendi Hotel, and i have to admit it was very poor.
We payed for half board and wanted to have a glass of water. To my suprise the young man refused to give me a glass of water. And said it was because we are only half board and not all inclusive.
I said to him, im so sorry but its only a glass of water? And still got refused. I spoke to the Manager about this and in the end i was given the water.
It felt like i was asking for something illegal.
The staff are very hostile, if you don't say hello, they will not say hello to you.
The rooms were very dated and the hotel was down right expensive.
On top of what we have already paid, the gym is €3 per hour
€16 for safe for 10 days
€4 for table tennis for an hour.
Paying for sunbeds by the beach.
Overall the Hotel staff and Managers don't have customer service skills, but the Hotel itself is in a lovely location.
Make sure you either hire a car or bike as it has 3 buses a day going to the nearest town which isn't close.
Food was good and the water....once you finally get it was also refreshing ☺
