This was our first visit to Gran Costa Adeje as we usually stay at Villa Cortes Along in Las Americas but wanted somewhere more suited to families for our first family holiday with our 15month old son.
On arrival we were impressed with the huge reception area and porter who parked our hire car for us and took care of our luggage.
Our room was rear facing which I was initially disappointed about but the mountain views were spectacular and very quiet despite the doors being ill fitted and letting quite a draft in on the windier days. The room itself was fine, decor and furnishing a bit dated but very clean and spacious enough considering we had a cot too. The bathrooms are in need of upgrading and decent venting as they become very hot and steamy.
The pool area is extensive and always more than enough sun beds available.
Stayed on half board basis and found breakfast to be good and dinner ok, we swapped a couple of dinners for lunch instead to get out in the evening as the meals were very similar every evening.
We enjoyed our holiday but to be honest did miss the luxury that we have become used to at Villa Cortes, it just doesn't compete when it comes to comfort, ambience, food and style but the price we paid was extremely good for what we experienced.
I would like to add that the staff at Gran Costa Adeje were absolutely exceptional! Every member of staff was friendly and courteous and the attention they paid to my son was truly amazing. He was excited to see the housekeeping staff each morning and lap up the fuss they made of him and the restaurant staff were just as wonderful. They made our Holiday a joy and we'd like to thank them all very much.

We had a lovely holiday 14 nights holiday just a few niggles along the way

Rooms... lovely large room spotlessly clean over looking the mini golf, we did email hotel and ask for a high floor room and this is exactly what we got a 3rd floor room with side sea view. The hotel is very well built and this shows in the rooms no noise issues, bathroom although a little dated the water was always piping hot, nice neutral decor and the maid service was excellent. Although not your up to date decor, we loved the quality of the build, marble and cumfy seating areas.

Lobby Bar... very attentive bar waiters, nothing was too much trouble, spirit drinks served with mixer bottles, my favourite I’m not a fan of tap mixers. The bar offers a waiter service and was mostly excellent service, the one issue that did bother us was the return guest fascination which included hand shaking for the gents, kisses for the ladies, followed by a lengthy chat, although a lovely gesture for arriving guests, we were left waiting loads of times not sure why return guests had to be greeted with kisses and hand shakes EVERY TIME they entered the bar. Surely you should treat all guests new and old to the same service. We loved the outside seating area, quality padded seating with plenty of sun shade, listening to the water feature in the back ground having a ice cold drink. Heaven.

Although we were all inclusive we only got to find out about the happy hour via face book, never once did we hear it mentioned or saw any signs to say it was happy hour.

Pool Area.... lovely spotlessly clean area with cumfy sun loungers really thick mattresses with loads of sun shades
All towels are removed by staff if you leave them unattended before 10 am, this does work really well and never seemed to be a shortage of beds. The adult only pool area on the 6th floor has beautiful views a small pool, its own bar a lovely quiet spot but space is limited and needs reserving early.

Pool bar.... another lovely spot to have a quiet lunch. Buffet salad, sweets and ice cream available for all inclusive. They do also serve burger, pizza, toasted sandwiches, and chips included in the all inclusive other meals are extra and either have to be paid cash or added to your room. Lovely attentive staff.

Restaurant.... Disappointed to say the least.
Breakfast all good plenty of choice and back bacon not the usual streaky.
Lunch again a fair choice , the food seemed better at lunch time.
Evening meal for us a disaster I did read on trip advisor about the food being cold but just thought people we’re exaggerating, I’m afraid not, the veg was stone cold most days and how people can eat cold sprouts , cold broccoli and cold carrots I’ve no idea or even why they were cold there are plenty of regen ovens and grills behind the counter so why they needed to be cold I could never work out. Our evening meals consisted of meat and fish the only food that was ever warm. We had roast beef one evening, lovely beef but cold Yorkshire pudding and cold veg just don’t work for us. Our last evening the food was top notch and fairly hot, so am not sure whether it’s a staff issue, may be some staff are reheating too much food at a time which then goes cold before it’s used.

Entertainment....The night time shows did have some really good acts and were pleasant to watch and listen to, worth a watch all personal choice of course.

Will we be back....maybe they have got loads of things right. ALL of the staff are very pleasant and work as a part of a team and seem to be happy in their work, lovely to watch. They just need to be aware of the return guest syndrome, and get the evening meal temperature right.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing your detailed review of our hotel following your recent visit. We are disappointed to hear your remarks about the food temperature; this is something we work hard to control and we can only apologise for any shortfall in this respect. Be assured we will monitor this matter with our restaurant team. We are pleased, however, that you enjoyed our breakfast buffet.
As you mention, we have a high number of returning guests and we are always pleased to see them back again, some having visited us over many years. We regret any inconvenience caused.
Overall, we are glad to see your many other positive comments about the hotel decor, the spacious rooms, our lovely pool areas and our attentive staff.
We hope to see you on your next visit to Tenerife, you will be most welcome.
With best regards

So me & my wife booked to come here for our 1st wedding anniversary. We booked the spa upon arrival and WOW! We had a couples massage with 60 mins in the spa. The massage was amazing we then got changed and made our way to a private spa with a sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, shower, foot spa, and other things to do! We was able to lock the door and be free and in total privacy! It had to be the nicest and greatest experiences I’ve ever done and we’re doing it again before we leave!

The Gran is an excellent hotel, impressive grand entrance. Great staff, very clean.
Situated at the top of quite a steep hill leading down to El Duque plaza and the beautiful sandy beach beyond with its adajacent swanky 5*+ hotels, great place to stop and people watch. Great location - walk along the beach to Los Christianos in one direction and La Calleta in the other, watch out for the parasending!
Our room was spacious and finished to a high standard.
We were on an all inclusive basis. Breakfast was excellent, you name what type of eggs you like your eggs and they’ve got it! Lunch was equally great which a choice of freshly cooked meat or fish along with various hot dishes. Dinner however we felt was a little lack lustre, maybe we are too fussy but plenty to choose from again, always a joint of meat carved and served while you wait. Pasta station. Salad bar. Various hot dishes.
Bar service -excellent!
Entertainment- brilliant- the three tenors are always a highlight for us.
Sun loungers - what a treat they’ve all been replaced with deep cushioned rattan ones.
La Laja restaurant - our holiday just wouldn’t be complete without a visit to this restaurant which is top class for their customer service and attention to detail - thank you Mohammed and staff.
We will return.
Not forgetting The Victoria Hotel - although not completely finished it is very impressive. We had a sneaky peek around and had drinks in the rooftop bar which features an infinity pool (for guests only) jutting out over the street below!

We stayed from the 8th - 15th May on a B&B basis.
Location:
We stayed on the third floor and our room had a lovely view of the sea.
The hotel is in a prime location with bars and restaurants at our doorstep, we found for us B&B was perfect. We ate out at a different restaurant every night, our favourites being El Gran Sol and the Oriental Chinese next door. The hotel price for cocktails and spirits isn't much different to that of the bars, however a pint of lager in the hotel is 3 euros and is 1 euro a few doors down in the local bars.
Food:
Breakfast every morning was amazing, with plenty of choice. We didn't have an evening meal at the hotel but we did have lunch one day at the pool bar which was lovely waiter serviced and extremely reasonably priced. Again the drinks prices here are inflated so we popped to the local supermarket (24 hours) and would buy bottles of water (50 cents) and spirts and take our own drinks to the pool.
Staff:
The staff were all really friendly, check in was smooth with welcome drinks a nice touch. The cleaner was especially lovely and polite.
We have recommended this hotel to family and will be back!

Room Tip: The higher the room the better views, although no need to pay for a pool view as these are more overlooked.
