Beautiful both outside and inside. A peaceful place to sit for a while. The statue inside of the lovely madonna is encrusted with 200000 sapphires.

The exterior can be photographed however you want, and should be photographed, because it is an outstanding piece of architecture in the middle of Chanthaburi. There was a huge sign of rules for visitors once you get to the entrance, however, which did put me off the place a little. Although I understand there are some rules that are necessary out of respect, it is almost overwhelming the number of points that were being made - some of which were repeated, so left me confused. Unfortunately did not get a lot of information about its past, even though there was a representative of the church there, but was more enraptured by the beauty of the design on the inside. Recommended if you also need a bit of a break to sit down outside of the heat for a while on your journey. It is also recommended you take a walk across the river and along the shops to see what else there is to offer at Chanthaburi. Be careful when taking children of young ages here - ensure they can adhere to the rules and are quiet, otherwise this may not only spoil the peace for you, but also for other visitors.

This beautiful church built since over 250 years and well-known as one of the most beautiful church in Thailand. Situated near the river and become one of the must-visit place when you visit Chanthaburi. If you visit on Sunday, you may need to go in the afternoon due to religion riot in the morning.
