My 2 friends and I stayed in this B&B while doing 2 stages of the Wicklow way. The accommodation was clean and well presented, but we had serious issues with the service and in particular the attidude of the owner, who was just short of being downright rude. We had booked a three bed room, but were given a double and single, when we pointed it out we were told that unless we had proof of the booking they could do nothing about it. The booking was done by phone and no confirmation email was sent. So if you are foolish enough to book this B&B make sure you have written confirmation of your exact requirements with you.

Full payment was made in advance yet the full amount was again taken from my account following our stay. There was a serious lack of customer service skills and none more so than in our dealings with the owner, Helen. Our issues were not earth shattering, and could have been resolved with a bit of understanding and some customer service skill from the owner, but her attitude and lack of customer service skills, made what could have been minor issues turn into a very distasteful and unsatisfactory encounter. Unless there is nowhere else to stay, I would recommend that Jacob's Well be avoided at all costs, if nothing else it does the Irish hospitality industry no favours. I should also add that the bar food was well below par.

Room tip: There were supposed to be mountain views from the room we stayed in but the only view was the wall of the bar next door

All Ireland hurling final day.went to watch the match and have a family meal with our three sons.only 2 screens but just about got to see the game.some items on the menu unavailable and no daily specials available. Food was average. Charged 2 euros 50 cents for jug of miwadi for the kids.2 of the 3 staff members we dealt with were miserable and unattentive..will not revisit.

Room very clean and quaint which was good for us as wanted to see a small town and visit with locals. Food breakfast and dinner excellent! Owner also bartended and great to visit with him for a while.

Room tip: Ask if any special event planned due to noise factor

Stayed here recently for a weekend. Room was lovely and bright. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Ate in the bar both nights, good range on menu and food was delicious both evenings! Death by Chocolate dessert, 11/10!! Lovely staff, there is a centra and a chemist up the road should you need. Breakfast bit of a let down but was nice. Would stay here again.

Myself my husband and 3 children stayed recently in Jacods well. When we arrived the building itself was very impressive freshly painted, lovely hanging baskets, not a piece of litter in sight and just somewhere you would be happy you booked. The staff were very friendly and had our room all ready and showed us up immediately. Room was lovely fitted 5 of us nicely. Ensuite was only spotless , crisp sheets on the beds and nothing out of place I am guessing Francis and John Brennan themselves would be impressed with this place. For families with small children who may need to heat up a bottle during the night there is a kitchenette at the end of the corridor equipped with kettle, fridge coffee/tea and even biscuits. We eat in the restaurant downstairs really good menu even for the little people. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, service was super quick and the food was only delicious. Rooms are quiet so a good night sleep for all. There is a playground only about 50m from the B&B which is very well equipped. Breakfast well where do you start fruit and yoghurt first then the FULL IRISH as much toast and beautiful homemade brown bread you can eat and the same with the tea and coffee endless supply . We found that no one was made fell rushed if you were happy to sit at breakfast well the staff were happy to have you there and again the endless supply of fresh tea and freshly brewed coffee was a treat indeed. Would I recommend Jacob's Well absolutely 100% will definitely travel down again.
