We visited this place with a school trip. After booking the jeep tour with what we thought was a tour with a discount for large groups, we only had a museum visit + one guy explaining the history of marble for 8!!! Euro’s per person. This was 430,- for a 30 minute tour. RIPOFF.

Dont go here with large groups by booking. The entrance says its 2 euros but the owner might change the price to his will.

Thank Daniel S

Dear Mr. Daniele, with regret, I read his review.
I find it incorrect to comment after having spent 20 days replying via email, providing all the information, including prices and tours offered.
I had also proposed the TOUR with the jeep but she considered it too expensive.
You have accepted my price and my visit program.
The owner does not change the price at his leisure, there are many emails documenting the fact that she accepted the price for my proposal.
I'm very sorry, in 30 years when our business is open to the public, and just read the reviews of this profile, which happens to us something similar.
First she does not accept the Jeep package and then complains that she did not do the Jeep tour.
I am very sorry, but before booking and confirming future visits in other places, read well what is proposed.
Good return home.

Carissimo sig. Daniele, con rammarico leggo questa sua recensione.
Trovo scorretto commentare dopo aver passato 20 giorni a risponderle tramite email, fornendole tutte le informazioni, compreso i prezzi e i tour proposti.
Buon rientro a casa.

It really shows the beauty and the hardships of marble quarries. The sculptures, views, small bedroom where the cavatori lived-all excellent.

Only one euro donation and you get to get up close and personal with sculptures and tools of the trade. Worth it!

It is small and chaotic, but surely worthy of a visit, this collection of tools, relics, machinery, sculptures and descriptions, that details the lives of poor and desperate men who cut the blocks and carried them down to Rome, all over Italy and Europe throughout the centuries, since Roman times. Now the work is done mostly by machines and computerised robots and carried down by huge tractors, to beautify our cities.

To be in the middle of the space of these quarries in service makes you live a unique spatial and temporal experience, of the geological time and of the humans' from the antiquity to Michelangelo and to the present men and artists. The beauty of the place is astonishing.
To be inside the mountain is a particular, universally significant sensation.
