The food is not for everyone. It is healthy food, so the soup can smell herbs very strong with weird taste. We tried several recommended menu, but only like one which is the fried mushrooms. Just avoid being too chatty with the owner. She will try to convince you to buy her MLM products

Hi Bootzy!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The herbs soup that you ordered might be our recommended Asian Bakuteh which is the local taste with strong herbs small so it might not suite to everyone. Sorry for not informing you earlier.

Besides, I am here to apologize for the hard sales and uncomfortable dining experience. We will look into it and improve. Thank you!

Idealite's brand of vegetarian food is different from the usual Chinese vegetarian eateries. It is a healthy vegetarian restaurant that serves brown rice, organic vegetables and every dish goes light on salt and seasoning. Either you love it (if you like wholesome meals) or you find something could be better (lack of oil or seasoning). I rank it somewhere between good and very good.

This is our second visit. We had tempura mushroom, bak kut teh rice set and bipbimbap. The bipbimbap is supposedly a Korean rice dish with the raw egg coating the rice and getting crusty on the hot bowl. This crusty rice is missing in how Idealite serves their bipbimbap. This is because they fried the egg - how to coat the rice & veg.

I have been coming here regularly for the past few months. They have changed their menu during that time too. What was great before is not so great now... Though there are still many choices of vegetarian foods to choose from (Note that they are not vegan), the staff lack the understanding of food intolerances and many times I had to tell them what Wheat Intolerance meant. Some of the food choices do not relate to the price... I ordered one of their special soups... It was listed as RM 12.90 for a bowl from what I see is a decent looking portion. But that day it was on '50% off offer' and when it came out, I had to ask if they meant it also shrunk the portion by 50%. It was good.. but honestly I would not justify paying RM 12.90 for a soup that is that size. You have been warned. But other than that, its fine for what it is..

We really love this place . A menu full of vegan options from rice to dessert and smoothies . We love their dumplings and everything we had there . Very cheap and high quality of food . Don't miss it

This is franchise restaurant now. I have been visiting this restaurant since their first shop at Pulau Tikus.
Overall very good vegetarian food.
The green curry is my favourite.
However at that price I would expect they use organic vegetable.
If you are vegan, this is the restaurant you must visit when you are in Penang.
The Bah Kut Teh will give you surprise.
