I stayed here on route to France after driving up from Tuscany. I was a little disappointed with this hotel. Upon checking in we were given the key but no information about breakfast, where the pool was or how to get wi fi. We had quite a bit of luggage from our road trip and had to do 3 trips to our room with the baggage. No concierge service or offer of any help, they just watched us struggle. I also thought we would be staying in a castle not a modern building next to it. That said our room was lovely, I cannot fault it but if I wanted a Travelodge style room I would have booked a different hotel. Also we could not use the pool because there must have been about 300 bees all drinking from the sides. They were everywhere and you could not get to it. They have got a draught and a bee has to drink. Sorry to leave this negative review, I must be missing something as I booked it on the strength of other reviews which absolutely love it. On a massive plus point the restaurant is one of the best I have been in. Fabulous cooking and unusual dishes at a very reasonable price. The service was also wonderful. I would not stay here again but I would definitely go to the restaurant which is a must if you are staying here.

Dear Guest,
we are really sorry to read you didn't enjoy your stay in our hotel.
We renovated all our rooms and hall in 2009 with a modern style. Sorry for the too fast check-in, we always remain at guests' disposal for any information and help. About bees, we don't use any kind of poison to avoid the risk to contaminate the environment and water. We hope to welcome you again in our hotel, we will do our best to solve problems you wrote in your review.

Kind regards

This hotel is situated on a top of a hill with fab views over The Valley. It has a nice pool area and the rooms a clean. Not the most charming interior but for the price 150e it is value for money. Nice restaurant next door but unfortunately full when we wanted to eat.

Stayed here for only one night. Very quiet as it was low season. Our room was a bit too small ,also the bathroom, but very clean and modern. I would upgrade next time, if staying a bit longer, but the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was really good. The best part for us was the excellent restaurant in the garden area, which served such delectable food and wine, The chef was really nice and even came out to help us with our choices and returned to ask if we had enjoyed it. Car parking is in front of the hotel. They have a comfortable bar which also serves tea and coffee. A mini bar in the room but not tea making facilities.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the beautiful view. You may need a superior room if you want more space.

Set on a hill side overlooking the river valley is this hotel. A nice blend of new and old, fantastic restaurant and wine selections. Narrow and winding roads are better navigated with a GPS. Very welcoming and warm. Would definitely return.

Stayed at this hotel whilst in area on business. Staff are very helpful, restaurant is great and location is fantastic - incredible views. Traditional exterior and contemporary interior made this a great place to stay.
