Fantastic dinner with our friends from Torre del Mar. Fabulous restaurant. Meal was amazing - huge portions and beautifully presented. Absolutely gorgeous and good Rioja wine too. Had starter and main course each.

Room Tip: We didn't stay there.

We spent a wonderful one night stay in this hotel. Lovely decor. Comfortable rooms. Beautiful surroundings. Fabulous pool area with views over the surrounding farms down to the sea. Gorgeous lemon and rosemary scented gardens. Restaurant service was second to none!

Had lunch here with my wife - and what an amazing experience! This place is rather off the beaten track, but well worth seeking out. Located on a hill-top, the views in all directions are superb. The food, ambience, table settings, service, and attention to detail are just first class. The whole Hotel majors on cleanliness, with all areas just pristine. Eating outside on the terrace is just lovely in the sunshine. But just a word of advice. If you intend to give a gratuity, do NOT add to the bill, as I'm given to understand that the Hotel may not distribute to the staff you intend to reward. Instead, give cash in hand to whoever you deem deserves it.

Clean, classy rooms in a modern Spanish style boutique hotel set in typical andalusian mountain landscapes. Amazing food was coming out of the in-house restaurant - or is it just our good taste ;-) Absolutely loved our stay here, only wish we could have stayed longer.

Guests dragging suitcases across the tile floors is our only criticism.

My partner and I were looking at the hotel as a potential wedding location, we pulled up to the hotel which was average from the outside (nothing like the photos on the website) and decided to keep a positive mindset as there could be potential. We then checked in and the rooms were nice. We then left the room and thought we would venture round and look at the pool. To our horror the pool was green, and to top it off a cockroach was taking a swim! Having recently worked in the legionella industry I thought I wouldn't chance it. We then went back in to the hotel where a member of staff showed us around the wedding location... this was okay.

As we only had 4 nights booked in Spain, we checked out and paid the full amount for the night. We didn't want to waste our holiday and wanted to feel comfortable. We ventured in to central Nerja where we then had a thoroughly enjoyable few days.

Wouldn't recommend!!

Inspira Hoteles... B, The B bou Hotels Team at B bou Hotel Cortijo Bravo, responded to this reviewResponded 3 November 2017

Dear Rachael,

We would like to thank you for your visit aswell as your opinion.

We are very pleased to hear that our Hotel was to your satisfaction. As you know our team is at your total disposition. Please let me explain.

Regarding the insect in the swimming pool, as you will know, cockraches are photosensitive meaning it is imposible to see them in the wilderness during the day, meaning the posibility to confuse it with another insect, for example, a wasp. Nonetheless, our pool is cleaned twice a day in an atempt to stop anything falling in the pool. The water is totally transparent and treated daily, all approved by the Quality System. One of the products it is treated with is clorine, for its healthiness, due to daily and weekly strict tests, monthly check by inspectors, all certifide by the Quality System, for this reason the presence of legionela is imposible.

As you would have noticest, the color of our pool tiles are green, in order to fit in with its surroundings, maybe this caused the misunderstanding regarding the color of the water. Our establishment goes through very strict sanitarian and enviroment tests, all governed by the Spanish Quality System, these tests are particulary rigorous.

We thank you for your time and attention,

Warmest Regards,

The B bou Hotels Team
