Description: Roly and Helen Harries took over this traditional village pub in Puddletown, near Dorchester in May 2013. Keeping the very best of the old, they set about combining its warm, friendly country ambience with a cool, airy modern interior - part of a style that is reflected in their approach to the food and hospitality. Something for which this bar and restaurant is rapidly gaining a first-class reputation. The food is home cooked, and where possible the ingredients are seasonal and sourced locally from friends or trusted specialist suppliers. The wines have been chosen to complement the menu, and there is always a range of excellent guest ales on tap.Together with Head Chef Danny Durose and his team, they've created a menu that reflects their personal tastes, with a truly international approach - a style that owes as much to the hot islands of the Mediterranean as it does to the classic and everyday dishes of Britain and mainland Europe. Roly and Helen with Children Thomas and Benjamin are passionate about producing the very best food at accessible prices, as well as extending a warm and friendly welcome to locals and visitors alike.

Nice pub, friendly staff. Good menu. Food first class. Would be nice to see a local ale represented, but otherwise very good.

We arrived on a busy wed lunch time. Was advised there may be a delay with food due to staff shortage. Menu looked good so we decided to wait. Worth the wait - i had the vege wrap, husband had the burger and our daughter had the chicken. All delicious home cooked food. Pub was buzzing but still relaxing, nice decor, friendly staff - a great find!

First time at Blue Vinny for Sunday lunch. We booked a table inside by the window although the place has a large garden for those who prefer to eat al fresco. Superb crab and avocado salad, Sunday roast, falafel burger and lamb steak. We also shared a pot of fresh mussels as a starter and they were meaty and beautifully cooked. Desserts were great too, we had either ice creams or sorbets and some of us had the chocolate cake with hot chocolate sauce or the waffle with caramel ice cream. Friendly and attentive service in a lovely atmosphere. The pub was full so we are glad we booked. Absolutely recommend.

Due to work commitments I arrived here 5 minutes before last food orders on a Thursday and received a warm welcome and ordered an excellent, very filling burger. On the Friday evening I knew I would not be back in time to order food before last orders so phoned to see if I could place an order for a ploughman as it would be just after 9 when I got their. That was no problem, the only problem was trying to eat a large ploughmans and I would say I have a good appetite! Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area

Lovely friendly, clean pub with well spaced tables and a good sized carpark. Our lunch was excellent, fresh ingredients and well presented. It would have been even better if there had been a seasonal vegetarian option on the specials board. This is our third lunch here and the standard has not varied.
