I live in Plymouth, Devon....

I travel to France on Brittany Ferries to Roscoff......

St Pol de Lyon is only 10 minutes from Roscoff (and Plymouth Port is only 10 minutes from home)......

St Pol de Lyon is seen by many Brits on "the left" as they whizz past from Roscoff and never stop to look.....

It's a BEAUTIFUL town with a Cathedral, church & SO MUCH more.....

Residence Les Roches have beautiful apartments..... Recommend "for 6" even if only two couples as you get a 2-storey unit with 2 bedrooms.....

BRILLIANT base for Brittany touring....

Today we went to Concarneau - only 90 minute drive..:::

Came in September 2015 & back now (June 2016)...... AND WILL BE AGAIN.....

STRONGLY recommended.....

The residence had every facility that we required. It offered peace and quiet, enjoyed the pool and sauna facilities.
The staff were excellent, particularly the receptionist who was very helpful and accommodating.

Room Tip: The complex was quiet, all chalets appear to be the same.

The complex is in a great position a short walk into the town and also from the beach. We had a house for 6 and the accomodation was excellent. It was very clean, plenty of hot water etc and a nice area for sitting out. The indoor and outdoor pool were great. The kitchen is well equipped but no oven and no kettle. There is a full size hob, microwave and dishwasher which worked really well for us. The only down side was the weather, it was pretty awful. Brittany probably not the best choice if you are looking for fine weather in August!!

As others have said this place is very quiet. The whether during our august stay was rainy so it was a struggle to keep the kids occupied. In hindsight we'd have driven to the aquarium in Brest. We did manage visit the zoo at tregomeur during our stay (50km away) which was lovely, worth the trip.

The accommodation here is good value for money. Our 2 bed house was enough for us with generous sized rooms. Bathroom is on the ground floor though making trips to the loo at night an adventure.

The beds were a bit camp bed like and only sheets which are provided on arrival as covers. Cleaning is done by yourself unless you pay 58euro. Didn't bother us but may bother some. Also there's no tv unless you pay a supplement. Again, in an age of iPads didn't bother us either.

The local town is lovely but very quiet. Chinese there is good. Roscof is better in the evening for a dinner overlooking the harbour, slightly prettier too and there was a kiddie fair ground ride. Cathedral is amazing.

The indoor pool is small and with all the kids staying seemed pretty murky, entrance too was grimy from grit being trod in from outside. This could be fixed easily with a bit of modification. Outside pool was cooler but appeared heated, was bigger and cleaner but not much fun on a drab rainy august day.

Parking is away from the accommodation which makes lugging bags to and from the car fun.

Staff we ok, we only saw a receptionist who looked like the ghostbusters receptionist only france. There's a maintenance man who seems to spend his days driving around on his golf cart and not much else. It's all very french.

Book for a quiet stay, with nice walks with decent views. Don't book if you want luxury and activities on your doorstep. It's nice but we'll be staying elsewhere next time. Thanks.
