Not as good as barcelo's we have stayed at before. Quite tired decor for the standard you expect from the brand and the price you pay. Royal level may have applied in 1985. We ended up checking out early and paying for another hotel.

Our stay in September 2018 was as great as our one in February 2017. Our contact at the hotel (Marrianne) did all she could to ensure that we had the room we requested and on our arrival at 10:30pm there was a meal waiting for us in the room. The room was (to be honest) a little tired but it was clean and comfortable and was arranged for a cleaning time slot so that we knew when our room was fully available. There was also a turn down service which was free,As per our last visit the food and drinks were above the norm and service from Cordelia was beyond kind.We stayed on the terrace level and because neither of us are swimmers used the facilities there all of the time. There were always plenty of sunbeds and the decking was cleaned every day. The jacuzzi however was not functioning fully and needs some serious maintenance or replacing.The hotel out time of mid day on the day of departure was a small problem as our coach pick up was not until 5:50pm. This was however sorted out extremely satisfactorily by the lovely Marianna. Looking at booking again for early 2019

The hotel was very clean, and tidy. The staff were very friendly and multi lingual. Everyone said hello to you in the morning and evening. Pool facilities are very good with good entertainment also. Relaxing environment despite families around. We had a fabulous rep called Brian Jones from Thomas Cook he was brilliant, so friendly and goes above and beyond!! He’s very down to earth and helpful. He sorted anything out we needed. I would recommend booking through Thomas Cook because Brian made our holiday great. Thank you Brian!! :)

I am only half way through my stay but am so impressed with thsi hotel, especialy with the friendliness of the staff I decided to write the review now. The food is very nicely presented and I am not usually a great fn of buffet food but the choices are good and varied. The royal level is great with a nice relaxed feeling about it. Top marks for the staff here, congratulations on excellent customer service with a smile.

Firstly I want to mention a few people who need a special thank you - Marianna and MariaLuisa. Thank you so much for everything you did for us, you made our holiday amazing again!

The new spa - is a must, but the scented showers that I was most looking forward to were broken. Otherwise, what a lovely experience, lovely area. Go here, then bar crawl (with a vodka slushie) on your way back to Royal Level :).

Room - perfect, toiletries, water, cleaning all perfect! Thanks go to the maids.

Food - Al a cartes - just same as last year, maybe a bit bitter. All the staff lovely
Royal buffet for breakfast / lunch / etc was nice to see familiar faces and services seems to be better here (food and plates piping hot). Food was lush.
Jandia Buffet - we went a couple of nights, food is just as good as the Royal level!

Bars - we stayed on the Royal Terrace most days which we were really disappointed that (1) the hours were cut from last year and often the staff were late / closed early and (2) No Guiness at all this year, no Drambuie. Last year we asked for Drambuie and Narea who looked after the bar arranged for one to be delivered the next day. Lovely addition of some sandwishes and snacks - I really hope that stays and that the hours get extended again. Still bar service and staff (special mention to Ronaldo) with special cocktails and treats was just lovely! Some of the lounger / bed mats could do with a clean / replacing as they looked dirty (just from suntan lotion etc, we saw them getting cleaned) and some guests may be deterred, it certainly takes away from the overall "look". Also the jacuzzi was still broken and when I say "still" it was the same bits that were broken the year before. If it has been fixed, the hotel need to change jacuzzi supplier :).
Lobby Bar - staff here were also fab - grabbed a few too many bloody mary's here!
In the evening we mostly used the Green Bar and with it being busy, it was quite slow to get drinks, but the guys worked tirelessly and most people (including us) were ordering freshly prepared cocktails (all made individually)!!! Biggest dissapointment was no entertainment in the Green Bar at all! We got a few bands / duets outside last year including Duo Traveller who were amazing...but no-one this year :(

Also missing is any entertainment from the Terrace / Lobby. Nic Waysman seems to have gone and we enjoyed his piano playing a lot.

There was entertainment down at the Jandia pools which included a vocalist / celloist and they were great! Had me boogying :) They also did a foam day with the biggest inflatable slide that looked loads of fun!

We are already booked to come back to this hotel as the value for money is great and the staff are amazing. I hope that the hotel will go back to the old opening hours (I think 10.30am - 6pm plus one later night with Nik Waysman) and also bring in Guinness on the Terrace and bring back some of the entertainment for next June :).

Room Tip: Best to contact guest relations with your requirements before you book, they are very helpful
