If you wanna to chill-out, this resort is the best in Erbil by far.
This was my 2nd time there.
Riding the telefric to reach the resort is an amazing journey by itself.
Rooms are clean & cosy.
View of the mountains is charming.
Restaurant is good.
Service is excellent.

Didn't have much of a preconception of what we'd be getting into. Guest accommodations in Kstan can be rather bleak. Such was not the case at the Korek Mountain Resort and Spa. We had a lovely 3 bedroom villa with ample space. Large kitchen and sitting area, two W.C.s. The staff was very prompt to help when called. You appreciate that since the villas are located well up the hill from the main lodge, but they provide shuttle service.

Due to the time of year there was no snow, but we weren't expecting any. There was an extra room available in the lodge which was offered to us at no extra charge.

The lodge also contains the dining room/restaurant. There have been negative comments about the food service, but none from me. The regular clientele has fairly narrow food preferences. Our group of Americans appreciated the quality and diversity of what was offered. The food was delicious and the manager made it his mission to provide an international diversity.

In all it was a very possible 6 days on the mountain and I'm sure that many of our group will be back again.

I went with several friends to Korek Mountain Resort for a week in early summer 2017. It was HOT down below but by the time we took the beautiful trip up the mountain in the cable car it had cooled down by several degrees and was delightful. We took advantage of several of their activities (including skiing in the summer!) and really enjoyed ourselves.

The food in the restaurant was very good and amazingly large portions and lots of variety.

The villas were nice, albeit far from the restaurant. The resort was not crowded and cars came relatively quickly, though, so that wasn't a problem.

Service in all areas (reception, housekeeping, dining, drivers, ski instructor, etc.) was excellent. No complaints at all.

The views are stunningly beautiful from every place you look out and at every hour of the day. We hiked up the nearby mountain (about 1 hour up and down including some time at the top) and enjoyed an even more breathtaking view.

If I am back in N Iraq in this area I will definitely consider Korek Mountain Resort as my preferred vacation destination.

We went to Korek Mountain Resort in July for the Ramadan Eid, the location is amazing, the buildings are amazing, but when it comes to service its a complete disaster!!!!
We were 5 families, we asked for an extra bed from 2pm and after 5 phone calls received a mattress at 11:00 pm!!!! We went to the restaurant to eat dinner which was open buffet, there was no refilling, terrible food and no one attended to us, we had to go and call the waiters!!
As for service, the local phones were not operating so we had to call them by our cell phones, and their number was closed at night! What if you have an emergency? The last day we wanted to have an early check out but the service number was closed! Imagine
As for the rooms, the floor was very dirty, the bathrooms flooded after taking a bath.
I will definitely not visit again.
