We booked a last minute gold coast getaway. I normally stay in holiday parks which were all booked out, so I picked this holiday apartment as it was very reasonably priced ($130 a night for a 2 bedroom apartment) and had vacancies.
We stayed in unit #10. This had two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two singles, and two full bathrooms, a washing machine, dishwasher, aircon and fully equipped kitchen. It was clean and well maintained. Our balcony looked over the swimming pool and spa. We had an undercover carspace as well.
The only issues I had were that my bedroom faced onto the gold coast highway and this was noisy when the windows were opened, so we had to keep them closed. It wasn't hot enough to test out the air conditioner, so I'm not sure whether it would have been hot in summer, but it was fine for April. The other issue was that our neighbours on both sides were chain smoking on their balconies, which meant the smoke was drifting into our balcony and unit for most of the day which was really off-putting. The rules unfortunately did allow smoking on balconies. Next time I will be sure to ask about this before booking, as I would prefer to stay in a place that is completely smoke-free.
The beach was only a block away, surfers paradise a short drive away and the theme parks about a 15 minute drive, so the location was perfect for our gold coast adventure.
Overall it was good value for money.
