santa elena ,kamari santorini.a lovely hotel spotlessly clean and the owners cannot do enough to help you ,their english is not so good ,neither is our greek ,but you understand that they are a very nice couple .it is in a good location away from any noise but not to far away from the ammenities. one piece of advice if you stay here take your own bath towel all you are provided with is a hand towel and a guest towel ,

Much like the island of Santorini itself this hotel is relatively basic and humble.
It is owned by an older Greek couple who work around the clock to keep the place spotlessly clean and exrtremely neat. They don't speak very much English but I found them very pleasant and always smiling.

The hotel is suited better to couples. It is nicely out of the way of the hustle and bustle - not at all too far away, its a 5 minute stroll to find a nice gyros or slouvaki and about 10 minutes to the beach, restaurants and shops.

The pool area is very nice and also very clean.

The only real problems we felt with this hotel was that there is no bar and also when it was time to get out of our room our agreeable owners from earlier were evidently eager for us to leave, and would not even allow us to leave our suitcases inside the hotel. Bearing in mind we had a 6 hour wait between the boot out and the pick up, this wasn't ideal.

On top of this, don't expect too much from breakfast - instant coffee, a pot of hot water, 3 slices of bread, butter / jam / a triangle of dairylea equivalent cheese and a slice of marble cake (the same everyday). It's said that the Greek's consider breakfast as the least important meal of the day, it's certainly true at the Santa Elena, a few croissants wouldnt go amiss.

I may be nitpicking now but I also recommend you bring a pillow.

Overall though, we did enjoy our stay and would recommend the hotel. Like I said earlier, extremely clean, lovely pool area, nicely out of the way and not a place for children - so very quiet and peaceful. And although there is no bar, you can buy cans of pop and beer from the owners at a good price - a good thing to remember as it's not advertised well (we only found this out on the last couple of days there!)

A last little tip: there's an open air cinema not very far from the hotel that you may hear about as it has rave reviews, we went along and loved it - it's a nice alternative to spending the evening in a restaurant and is a gorgeous place to watch a film. The film's are in their original language - so if it's an English speaking film it will be in English with Greek subtitles, and more often is than not English. It's 7 Euros in and the films show at 9.30 - just up the road.

Booked a late deal 4 days before departure. We travelled with Thomas Cook and the Hotel can be found in the Manos brochure. The details of which are about right. 700 Mtrs from pebble beach 500 Mtrs from resort centre. The hotel is at the back of the resort up a slight incline. In a quiet location.
No lift and tight stairs to first and second floors makes this not the ideal hotel in Santorini for any one with walking difficulties.
All aspects of the hotel are Very clean and tidy.
The hoteliers are Very Greek. They don't speak much English and you tend to get what they provide.
No bar. Basic breakfast (Bread .Cheese .Jam .Cake .Tea .& Coffee)
Rooms basic. Air Con extra but preset temp On /Off only (No remote controller)
Empty Mini bar provided in all rooms are not as good as a fridge.
The pool area is comfortable and loungers were cleaned every day .
All in all the hotel was more or less what you expect on a Greek holiday and we did enjoy our stay.
A hotel best suited for couples.
