on arriving the quality of this hotel was some what of a concern. travelling with friends I must say our room appaared to be much better than theirs a hole had been punched in the bathroom door and the handle hanging off!! the restaurant was an absolute nightmare the food was cold and the waiters seems to be rushing about and not enough tables for everyone to sit>.....hence after a few hours we paid and moved to the barcelo round the corner which was fab. one night was enough for us!!!

on arrival got checked in quickly by receptionist and found our room, stuck right in a corner with half a balcony and half a bathroom, it was overlooking the pool ok but you could hardly see it for a wall from the room next door. down to reception and asked for another room, changed no bother to side of hotel, bright and airy room and sun all afternoon on the balcony. after that enjoyed every aspect the hotel offered, food ok ,sometimes needed to use microwave to warm it up but always found something to eat. very friendly staff especially the barmaids. would definately return if we got the same deal.

Firstly its a 3 star hotel, you can get better if you pay more and much worse. Short trip from airport which is a bonus. Upon arrival we did not like room or balcony and was immediatly given keys to another two rooms to have a look at and change if required.Rooms were of a decent standard and cleaned 5 out of the 7 days. The pool was lovely though very cold, same for rooftop pools, but freezing jacuzzi's - not good. I appreciate not height of season but would ahve been nice to have rooftop bar open at least for aprt of the day. Hotel reception staff were friendly spoke excellent English. Food was very good and great variety special mention for range of salad and fresh fruit. Only gripe was food not always hot, but there was microwave if required. Only complaints are the awful toast queue in the morning quality of juice (watery) and the snacks which were not great, and for people with children - no all day ice-cream. Also the two drink rule at the bar - we were a party of 3 and couldn't always get drinks togther.
Entertainment was ok tried hard but not brilliant. We went to the Barcelo for a couple of nights and the entertainemnt there was excellent - prices for drinks not that expensive considering they were branded. Also ahve a look at the day spa luxury for Euro's 24. Didn't venture out much resort very quiet lovely beach and small shopping area, did go for an Italian in the restaurant (opposite the large perfume shop) fantastic staff lovely and even gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate a birthday . Would certainly go back to this resort and hotel.

Room Tip: If not happy ask to change

I'm someone who has experienced a vast range of holidays from the USA and Carribean to self catering European so hopefully this review is fair. Firstly its a 3 star hotel, you can get better if you pay more and much worse. From my experience of 3 star all inclusive European hotels, this was very good. The room was a generous size (we were 2 adults and 1 child). It was very clean, bathroom was of good standard and serviced 5 out of the 7 days. Despite facing the pool and next to the lift it was very quiet despite being a busy half term. Hotel staff were so friendly and spoke excellent English. The pools were immaculate however my only gripe was the embarrassing English who were up at the crack of dawn to reserve sunbeds and then disappear for a few hours. Thankfully in the minority. Breakfast was excellent, full english available including 4 types of eggs, english sausages and fried bread! Lunch and dinner had a great variety, different themes each night and special mention needs to go to the range of salads and fresh fruit. Only complaints are the juice and the desserts (which is the same in all european hotels) although a range of ice cream was always available. Despite what others say, we never found the food cold, warm sometimes, but there is a microwave. Special mention goes to the Thomas Cook rep who has 6 years experience on the island and is honest enough to tell you if you can get a trip cheaper elsewhere. The entertainment team work incredibly hard and are fantastic singers. My daughter idolised them and counted down the hours to the kids show at 8pm each evening. They don't have enough staff to run a full time daytime kids club but do run activities which are child friendly. Bingo kept the English happy each night and with a prize of 200 Euros we even took part. Gym is currently being refurbed so don't take your gym gear, although sea front path goes on for miles so great for running and walking. Pools are cold, but i have always found that in the Canaries. Roof top terrace an absolute sun trap and quiet. Resort is quiet, relaxed with a fantastic beach and small shopping centre. Would recommend the trip to jandia in the south where it is about 4 degrees warmer. Oasis Park also good for kids but be warned that it is a long day as the free bus only picks up at 9.15ish and collects at 6pm. if you're in a group, get a taxi or hire a car. So for the money, you can't complain about the hotel, it was the minority of English guests who caused the problems!

This hotel was very clean and rooms were cleaned almost everyday with new towels supplied. i have previously read that the travel cots were terrible but must say that my 18 month son had one and it was of a very high standard and very clean. The resterant is very busy and has very similar dishes each night, i was not satisfied with the quality of food but it was edible. if you like a variation of rice and currys then you would probably enjoy. unfortunetley you dont really know what is in them if there hot or mild unil you eat. the hotel design leaves an outside area which is 100% surrounded by hotel apartments which means the sun barely hits any of the area and your in shade. the pools are both in the shade and are not heated. no one went in them the whole time we were on holiday! i spoke to reception about it and was told one of them has a solar panel to read suns temperature so it will warm the water to 5 degrees less. this reading is massively affected by the pool not being in direct sunlight leaving the pool freezing. Surronding the hotel is a few shops and the beach is not far to walk. the beach is brilliant! hotel entertainment very poor quality, 2 entertainers each night but the same 2 as every other night. they were great with kids which starts at 8 but other than that not a lot to comment on!
Also do not pay the rip off airport transport at £150 , it actually cost 15 euros by taxi and saves all the hanging about!
