After our flight to the Gold Coast and our transfer to our apartment (via public bus service which was good) from Coolangatta Airport we were quite exhausted. After settling into our more than acceptable digs (at AVANI Apartments) we were keen to eat and then retire. We wandered up the Gold Coast Hwy for a block or two trying to find a restaurant that had reasonable prices for a steak. We found restaurants offering "fillet steak" (and no other cuts of steak) for anything between $40-$95... We were about to return to our apartment (with the prospect of biscuits for dinner) when we discovered Max Seafood Restaurant... not only were the prices reasonable, but the service and the food were excellent. My partner had chicken breast, chips and vegetables... I had Seafood Chowder followed by Fettuccini Marinara. We both enjoyed the Garlic Cob, the bottle of red and the several beers that I consumed as well... My comment to the manager as we left "It's nice to find a restaurant on the Gold Coast that doesn't expect us to pay their mortgage for the privilege of eating steak at their establishment".
I would highly recommend that travellers try this restaurant at Broadbeach for "value for money".
