After our flight to the Gold Coast and our transfer to our apartment (via public bus service which was good) from Coolangatta Airport we were quite exhausted. After settling into our more than acceptable digs (at AVANI Apartments) we were keen to eat and then retire. We wandered up the Gold Coast Hwy for a block or two trying to find a restaurant that had reasonable prices for a steak. We found restaurants offering "fillet steak" (and no other cuts of steak) for anything between $40-$95... We were about to return to our apartment (with the prospect of biscuits for dinner) when we discovered Max Seafood Restaurant... not only were the prices reasonable, but the service and the food were excellent. My partner had chicken breast, chips and vegetables... I had Seafood Chowder followed by Fettuccini Marinara. We both enjoyed the Garlic Cob, the bottle of red and the several beers that I consumed as well... My comment to the manager as we left "It's nice to find a restaurant on the Gold Coast that doesn't expect us to pay their mortgage for the privilege of eating steak at their establishment".

I would highly recommend that travellers try this restaurant at Broadbeach for "value for money".

We went twice in our stay in broadbeach once for the $10 lunch special and then another night for there seafood platter.
Bother times food was excellent. The seafood platter was huge and very fresh.
I know they have a discount menu for dinner as well. But its worth going either way for a very nice meal. The service from the staff is 5star

I'm so glad I hadn't seen the many negative reviews of this restaurant prior to eating there last weekend! We were looking for a place to have dinner and, quite frankly, found the prices of many places to be very expensive, especially for what apppeared to be simple pasta dishes. so, when we saw the sign outside Max's offering dinner for 50% off, our interest was aroused. After perusing the menu, we thought it was worth giving the restaurant a try.... so we did and had an enjoyable and reasonably priced meal! I enjoyed my chicken dish whilst my partner enjoyed his salmon. My sister is very fussy and hard to please but she finished all of the Morton Bay bug and pasta dish. We found the servings to be more than adequate to satisfy our appetites and the service was prompt and polite. I was a little concerned that we would not receive the 50% price reduction, as the waitress took down the sign just after we sat down but upon checking, we were assured the discount would still apply. The decor is not very attractive but we certainly could not compain about our meal. I would, however, be hesitant to recommend this restaurant if we had had to pay the non-reduced price as this would have made the meal quite expensive.

Terrible arrogant & rude owner & staff. Disgusting watery with chewy seafood chowder. Never had such a bad dining experience on the GC. Spend your money & valuable family time elsewhere instead of being rushed & receiving terrible service
