There are so many holiday apartments to choose from in Broadbeach, you could be overwhelmed when looking for the right place to stay. I chose Grangewood Apartments purely based on reviews I had read on Trip Advisor.
First impressions, manager Miryung was very kind and friendly during check in and even carried my suitcase to my first-floor apartment. There are no lifts so it's not wise for the elderly or disabled to stay in any room higher than the ground floor. I stayed in apartment 12 which overlooks the pool and Surf Parade. The apartment was very clean, tastefully decorated with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, the second bathroom with laundry facilities, and a lounge room with cable TV. The kitchen was fully equipped for cooking and entertaining. There was an air conditioner in the main bedroom, but it wasn't working. I asked management about this and was advised that they were expecting to have it looked at the next day. Two days later the "owner" knocked at the door at 8.15am with two repair men. I appreciate that management had this issue looked at promptly, but some prior notice would have been courteous. It may have been business as usual for them but I was after all, on holidays!
There's a mini supermarket across the road that sell inexpensive necessities. A busy café opposite the apartments opens daily at 6am and their patrons can be quite noisy, all of which...There are so many holiday apartments to choose from in Broadbeach, you could be overwhelmed when looking for the right place to stay. There's a mini supermarket across the road that sell inexpensive necessities. A busy café opposite the apartments opens daily at 6am and their patrons can be quite noisy, all of which you can hear if your bedroom faces Surf Parade. There is free WIFI but it’s very weak and it drops out all the time. Checking in and out was quick and easy with the fact that I had prepaid. The main town centre is a short stroll away and it’s roughly 150 metres to the beach. The Gold Coast airport is 40 minutes in a taxi (around $50AUD) however, there’s a shuttle bus from the airport that stops very close to the apartments. Pacific Fair shopping centre about 10 minutes away. I will stay here again but perhaps on my next visit I will request a room at the back of the complex, not one facing Surf Parade. Overall, not a bad find. Bring your own dish washing liquid and washing powder if you plan to stay more than two days. More
