We live in Patzcuaro and have been coming to this restaurant for about 8 years. It seems to be going down a little with each visit. First visit was so impressive with an old school waiter giving us exceptional service and we enjoyed all the food.
Yesterday I had one of my favorite cuts of beef, the vacio. It had a nice char on the outside but was dry with no juices or sauce. For the first time in my life, I had to ask for steak sauce (A-1). The vegetables, squash, chayote and carrots were 3 different temperatures ranging from cold to warm. It appeared the plates had been sitting too long before they were delivered.
My partner had a similar experience.
Pet peeve - we ordered wine and a glass of water, but they will only bring bottled water.
The meal was okay and edible (also had Caesar salad), but not great.
Waiter was nice enough and responded to requests, but wasn’t always available and over all we found the service to be slow (after given menus, it was at over 10 minutes before drink orders were taken. We didn’t know who our waiter was as menu given by hostess. We even had closed our menus in hope of service).
The place is lovely and it is a nice place to sit on a pretty day.
Maybe next time we will go simpler with soup and salad, or just coffee and desert.
