My wife and I stayed at this hotel and were quite dismayed when we saw the outside of it, the entrance, and the stairs to go up to reception. However, the welcome we were given at reception was so very warm. No-one at the hotel spoke English but the willingness to assist in any way we needed was second to none. One of the receptionists, Feng, used a translator app on her phone and although this takes much patience it was effective. The room was a little 'tired' and the internet in our room did not connect but Feng brought a small wifi mobile repeater to our room and made the necessary adjustments to our laptop. We asked for assistance in booking train tickets and Feng volunteered to go to the railway station to buy them on our behalf. No city map was available but Feng drew a 'mud map' for us. Breakfast was a little strange to us with our Australian tastes but was enough to get us going for the day.
When it came time to leave, Feng volunteered to go to the railway station with us and after seating us near the door to our platform, informed another traveller and a lady railways assistant who made sure we got on the right train. Aesthetically this hotel doesn't have much to recommend it but in terms of service and value it would be difficult to better it.More
