There was everything we needed on the premises including excellent wifi reception. It was not really warm enough to sit outside however for extended walks the weather was comfortable and sunny. With the shorter length of daylight there was plenty of time to catch up on reading.
We stayed in The Old Stables for two weeks & had an amazing time. Beautiful pool area, gorgeous design one of them I have seen & unique. The accommodation was great, very clean with everything you needed including a BBQ, your own sun beds, table & chairs with a much needed large umbrella.
It was lovely to be able to pick oranges to juice & lemons got G& T's!! Also we had eggs from the chickens which you can feed & the olive oil that is produced from the accommodations own olive groves.
Ideally located for Vera, 15 minutes from the beach & if you want somewhere livelier 25 minutes to Mojacar, if like us you want peace & quiet you are in easy reach of a number of villages in the mountains such as Bedar. Also you are in easy reach of two great golf courses 10 & 15 minutes away.
Mick & Pirrko are great hosts & huge fun! Lots of great recommendations & help.
We will return!
We stayed in The Old Stables last week and had a very relaxed and peaceful time. The accommodation was well equipped, with good wifi connectivity and the large pool by the main house was great. The hosts were helpful and friendly - on hand when needed but otherwise unobtrusive - and hopefully pleased by the FA Cup result on Sunday. This was our first stay but it won't be our last
We first stayed at Finca Arboleda in 2006 and have been coming back here ever since. As we now live in Madrid, on this occasion I wanted to see if I could use The Old Stables as a base during a week of business meetings in Murcia and Almeria. It proved to be the perfect base with every comfort, excellent wifi, TV etc and the usual warm welcome from Mike and Pirkko. Whether for business or pleasure I would recommend Finca Arboleda to anyone coming to this part of Spain which remains a still little known treasure with the most fabulous year round weather. Granada is just 2 hours away and I especially love the Cabo de Gata.
We have just returned from our 8th visit to Finca Arboleda and I am writing this thinking how lucky we were to find such a brilliant place back in 2007. We have had such wonderful relaxing holidays every year since we first discovered it - mostly in early Spring and twice later in the year. The trouble is we have one major dilemna - March is a nice time to visit to enjoy some warmth and sunshine, when it can be miserable back home AND the freshly squeezed orange juice each day is out of this world. September/October is also lovely when the sea and pool are obviously warmer for swimming, the garden is warm to sit in, but the oranges are coming to an end! We have not yet stayed in the summer. What a dilemna to have - deciding the best time to visit! One thing is for sure, whatever time of the year you go the Finca is always clean, comfortable, well equipped, peaceful and you get a warm welcome from Pirkko and Michael.
The surrounding area has lots to offer - beautiful beaches, interesting towns and villages, bars, restaurants and the nearby mountains. The finca is in a rural setting and you definitely need a car to get around and make the most of your visit. Vera is only 5/10 minutes drive away and has all the essential amenities such as shops, supermarkets, banks and a huge Saturday market.
We will definitely be back for many more holidays.
