After a long day on the beach we got super hungry and looking at review we could not wait to eat! (march 2017) when we got there, we could could see no one it was closed (no sign saying so). We moved on to Mudjin Bar & Grill where they informed us he closed months ago with no indication of reopening. So before going give them a call to make sure. Mudji bar turned out to be great with amazing views by the way, so ended great for us!

We were expecting to eat here on our trip to middle caicos mid-Feb and despite the reviews and posted hours, the restaurant was closed. Later, in talking with locals, we learned that it had been closed for a number of months and is not expected to reopen. Disappointed but drove up to Last Chance on bottle creek and thoroughly enjoyed Plan B.

There really aren't a lot of choices for restaurants in Middle Caicos, especially if you're visiting the Conch Bar Caves. It takes about 30 minutes or more to get from the marina to the Caves, and you'll drive right by the small village that Daniel's Café is in if you drive too fast. Daniel is an absolute character, and he's just the friendliest guy. He made us feel right at home.

The choices on the menu are pretty limited, and it depends on what they happen to have on hand. There were five of us, and we were the only ones there, so Daniel offered to do up an order of cracked conch, and a whole fried fish. The conch and fish were the only two things on the menu that day. The conch was fried to perfection, with a light batter. The whole fried fish was killer - my kids loved it, and I ended up eating what little meat was left on the bones after everyone had had their share. Daniel served it family style on a separate table, along with a side of peas and rice (peas and rice in TCI is different that what I thought it would be - it's black beans and rice, not green peas and rice), and a salad of lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. All of the food was excellent. This is not a fancy place - it's a laid back diamond in the rough, and Daniel is a skilled chef.

Just be aware that their credit card machine may not be working, so make sure you carry plenty of cash just in case. We had planned to pay with a credit card, but were belatedly informed that the machine was on the fritz. We just BARELY had enough cash on us to pay for lunch and to add a somewhat meager tip. The tip ended up being something like 11%, unfortunately. I would have liked to have given more, but we literally gave them our last dollar that we had on hand.

Great place that's out of the way, but worth finding if you can.
