“Wonderful New Year's Eve”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2012

We stayed for 3 nights at end of December/ beginning of January, and were so pleased we chose to stay at La Casa for New Year's Eve. The accommodation was lovely- so nice to be in a small, friendly hotel - and the party put on for the evening of 31st Dec was excellent. A superb buffet meal, a party of 35 friendly happy people, champagne in the square at midnight, followed by seeing the London fireworks on TV at 1am, and music and dancing. Many thanks to Sarah, Neil and Karen for all their hard work.
The hotel is in one of the narrow little streets of Torrox Pueblo, a lovely little village with restaurants and bars in the main square, not in the modern sprawl of Torrox Costa, so you have to load and unload quickly outside the hotel, and then drive up to the free public car park (about 5 - 10 minutes walk away). If you have a car, there is a lovely drive through the hills along the backroads to Frigiliana, another pretty village, which probably gets overcrowded with tourists in the summer, but was delightful on a sunny day in winter. We were lucky throughout our stay to have warm sunny weather, and also enjoyed a walk all along the promenade at Torrox Costa, and a paella lunch by the beach in Nerja. If you do not have a car, there are local bus timetables in the information folder in the rooms.
The wi-fi worked well in the public area downstairs, and we also got it to work in one area of our room.
I recommend eating in the restaurant at La Casa at least one evening of your stay - the food is excellent, especially the steaks, as others have already mentioned.
To sum up, La Casa is a delightful little hotel, with extremely pleasant and helpful staff, and excellent value for money.

Wonderful little hotel. extremely clean. Breakfast is continental, but that is what you would
expect. Evening meals delicious with a good choice of menu. Neil, Sarah and Karen are
wonderful hosts. They welcome you into their home like friends instead of guests. We
love this place and we love Torrox. Keep up the good work!!

This a warm and intimate hotel ideally situated in this little town which is ideal for relaxing away from the bustle of the Costa coast but easy walking distance if you wish to walk the promenade.
The main feature is the owners and their welcome on arriving and throughout.
I have travelled extensively throughout the world in expensive hotels but the hospitality is the important thing and this venue has it in spades and it is genuine.
The food is excellent and served in a friendly way with conversation if needed or privacy if you prefer.
The rooms far exceed the star rating especially those facing the rear as they have a great view but I am sure any room would be good as the standard of fittings is excellent and although the rooms are initially cool in winter they soon warm up once Neil has given his teachin on the controller.Same for the TV!
The travel industry needs more places like these so do use it as you wont regret it as it is unfortunately an exception in this day and age and we need to encourage this a model for the industry!

Room Tip: Rooms on rear have stunning views!

Thank you to Sarah Neil and Karen for a super holiday in their outstanding hotel. You have made the hotel a very stylish, comfortable and friendly place in a perfect location for touring the local area. The bedrooms are exceptional both in style and cleanliness and the terrace is an amazing place to relax and take in the beautiful views. We ate in the hotel 3 nights in the lovely courtyard restaurant and only wished we were there for longer to sample the rest of the extensive home cooked food. The lamb shanks and steaks are second to none. Thank you again and we certainly hope to return. Eileen and David Long Eaton Nottingham.
