We stayed at this hotel in late September this year. When we arrived we were told that no rooms were available but that for one night we would be moved to a nearby hotel with use of all it's facilities. St Constantin's ensured we had a taxi to and from our replacement hotel. This hotel was exceptional in all aspects and when we returned to our hotel the staff went out of their way to ensure we were additionally compensated in the form of an extra meal in the Al a carte restaurant and a bottle of wine for the room. However it should be noted that the staff were friendly and courteous at all times to all guests giving the holiday a real personal touch.

The room was clean and well furnished if a little dated but the bed was large and comfortable. The other facilities of the hotel were also clean. The pool was on the small side and the poolside music could get a little repetitive, but the second pool, though still small was quieter, however could often be shaded during the day (good for summer but a bit chilly in late September).

The food was tasty with a good mix of traditional and other European foods. Everything always seemed fresh. The only downside was at meal times the juices availiable were not real fruit juice (particularly annoying at breakfast) and were instead squash-based juice drinks. I wouldn't recommend more than about a week as after this point the food would begin to be repetitive.

To summarise, I would really recommend this hotel and think it's star selling point is the friendliness of its staff and how much they feel personally invested in ensuring you have a good holiday.

Before we arrived at this hotel the reviews were very mixed with conflicting opinions so this review is trying to give a genuine balance but it remains a choice of the traveller as to what is most important for their particular hotel and holiday i.e accommodation, food, entertainment, proximity to local amenities etc.

The staff are excellent, friendly, helpful and all very nice people.

The rooms are a good size, comfortable beds with a fridge, kettle, air con plus a full size bath with shower over. If you require a safety deposit box this is charged at 6 euros a day. Our room was located above reception and we were never disturbed by the evening entertainment however my daughter and family were positioned directly across from the stage which was not good bearing in mind they have two small children. Perhaps reception should have looked more closely at their ages when allocating their room and placed them somewhere quiet.

There is a playground for children with a children’s club. A small chapel is located within the grounds of the hotel which is open and presumably used for weddings held at the hotel.

There are three pools, two at the quiet pool area near to the main bar and one oblong pool located on the higher level closer to the restaurant and snack area/bar (the only place for ice cream cones during the day). Spirits apart from cocktail of the day were only available at the main bar but beer and soft drinks at both. All inclusive drinks end at 22.45pm however a large beer and a large ouzo/lemonade together were only 6 euros.

All meals and drinks are self service - the breakfast was very good with a good choice, lunch again fine but the evening meal was a big disappointment - mainly the main course as the starters and deserts were good. There is a roof top restaurant which you book via reception and you will select your meal prior to the arriving and then this is served to you. Food was generally not very hot so probably best to get to your meal as soon as the restaurant opens.

The hotel is close to the beach with sun beds available for 6 euros for two with a brolley, a few local supermarkets and a good choice of tavernas which we visited namely GEORGES and Milos Restaurants both providing delicious food at very reasonable prices.

The hotel has a mix of several nationalities with none being in the majority. All in all for what we paid couldn’t complain but would probably not return as all inclusive does not allow us to change our evening meal experience where you are served your meal which you have selected from a menu!

Room Tip: Superior room by the main pool.

Dear Alan R,

We would like to thank you for preferring St. Constantin Hotel for your recent holidays in Crete. Also we very much appreciate your time you spent in writing this feedback and share your experience you had with us. We would like to inform you that we take seriously all guests reviews, as we believe that guests’ remarks will improve our services. Also we would like to thank you for your nice words about our staff, our rooms, our food selection for breakfast and lunch and our facilities.
First of all, we would like to clarify that the cost for the safe is 3 euro per day and not 6 euro as you wrote. To your comment about the allocation and the problem with the noise that your daughter and her family faced during their stay from our entertainment program, we would like to apologize. If your daughter had reported it to our reception staff during her stay, we would have taken all the necessary actions to find a more suitable room for her and her family and we would have allocated her in a different room.
Concerning to your comment about the food, we would like to thank you once again for your nice words about our breakfast, lunch and the starters and desserts of dinner. On the other hand, despite you liked most of our food selections, you expressed you dissatisfaction for our main course at dinner time without giving us more details. If you have informed us about your dissatisfaction with our menu at dinner, we could, in corporation with our chef, change part of the menu to your preferences.
Regarding to your comment about our food which you have found it warm or cold, we would like to inform you that the food is preserved in temperatures that are defined from the Ministry of Health regarding the food that is being served in the “buffet”. For all the guests that wish their food to be hotter than we serve it, we have a microwave oven which can be used for this purpose.
In conclusion we would like to thank you again for choosing St. Constantin Hotel for your recent holidays in Crete and for your nice words about our staff, our rooms, our food menus for breakfast and lunch and our facilities. We would like to inform you that we will take under consideration your well-intended feedback. It would be our pleasure to welcome you again in the future in St. Constantin Hotel.

Myself and daughter staggered for a week 15-22 Oct 17. The rooms were very clean, serviced every day with clean linen and towels. It was at the end of the season however, the quality of service, food , pool areas and bars were excellent. The spa area was excellent, although the gym equipment was below the standard of the hotel generally.
Overall a very good hotel, braves only 5-10 minutes walk, local shops and only 30 min transfer from the airport.

Having stayed for a week at this hotel on an all inclusive basis. I would have to seriously think about returning. The staff are very nice and helpful. But that's were things change. Our room was apparently a superior room ? But people we spoke to had far better room's as standard. The bathroom had a leak under the bath so every time you had a shower it flooded the bath room while talking to the reception staff a Jet 2 rep interrupted and in a very patronising voice commented that here in Greece the bathrooms are wet room's. Yes we understand that but not to the extent that you are paddling. The hotel maintenance guy came and siliconed around the bath but it still leaked. So we were given another room but this is now 3 days into a 7day break. Well the guests in this section of the hotel were very hygienic as you could here everything they did in the bathroom and I mean everything we heard it all through the wall. When a door slammed the building vibrated. Now the food well the selection was varied but either warm or cold. At breakfast when the T-bags ran out half way through the allotted time we were told there was no more today. At any meal time there was only a full choice of food if you were there at the start of the allotted meal times. The hotel was clean tidy but if you where anything less than able bodied you would be struggling with some of the steps but may not make it up the numerous ramps that are there for push chair's and prams.to get to the dinning room bar and other facilities. All in Crete is a lovely island we just feel a bit let down by the hotel as at this time of year it feels like it is winding down ready to close when you would expect the all inclusive standard to be the same from the start of the season to the end.

Dear Ken P,

We would like to thank you for preferring St. Constantin Hotel for your recent holidays in Crete. Also we very much appreciate your time you spent in writing this feedback and share your experience you had with us. We would like to inform you that we take seriously all guests reviews, as we believe that guests’ remarks will improve our services. Also we would like to thank you for your nice words about our staff and the cleanliness of our Hotel.
First of all, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience that you faced with the leak in your bathroom. As soon as you informed us about that, we took all the necessary actions to fix it. Unfortunately, it was not possible to be fixed during your stay and for this reason, for your better comfortness, you had to change room. Once again, we are sorry for the problem that occurred during your stay.
Regarding to your comment about our food which you have found it warm or cold, we would like to inform you that the food is preserved in temperatures that are defined from the Ministry of Health regarding the food that is being served in the “buffet”. For all the guests that wish their food to be hotter than we serve it we have a microwave oven which can be used for this purpose. Concerning to your comment about the lack of tea bags, we would like to inform you that we have never faced an issue like this, we always replace and refill all tea bags and food during the time the restaurant is open. We do not accept this comment as it is not true. Regarding to your comment about the choices of the food, we would like to clarify that our staff cares, during the opening hours of the restaurant, so all the buffets to be filled with the daily menu choices that are prepared from our chef. In case you noticed that there was a lack in a specific food choice, you should have informed our maître or any restaurant staff member and they would have refilled it immediately, but as we previously mentioned, this never happened.
To your comment that the hotel is winding down ready to close due to end of the season, we would like to inform you that in our all-inclusive program is written clearly that our Asteria Roof Garden restaurant and Kalypso Snack bar is open from June till the end of September. All the information regarding our Hotel descriptions, all inclusive program, leasing facilities etc. are being sent to all our partners and travel agents a year before the season starts. If in any case you felt that you were deceived, you should complaint to your travel agent who had all the information needed. From our side as we do to all arrivals, we give in hand our all-inclusive program and our reception staff explains the program in details during the check in, so you knew and were informed which facilities were open and which were closed. Although our all-inclusive program states clearly that Kalypso Snack bar and Asteria Roof Garden restaurant are open from June till the end of September, this season, we decided to keep them open till the half of October for the better service of our guests, as guests’ satisfaction is our first priority and what we strive for.
In conclusion we would like to thank you again for preferring St. Constantin Hotel for your recent holidays in Crete. We are happy that you liked our staff and the cleanliness in general. We will continue working on improving our high quality services with great enthusiasm and we will be more than happy to accommodate you in the future, so that you will give us a second chance to fulfill your expectations.

Yes, this was our 4th time back to this hotel.
The variety of food and the layout of the restaurant has improved and the roof top restaurant is open longer into the season.
The staff in the hotel are still as warm and welcoming as ever, although maybe the owner's could be a bit more approachable as you do see them around but they do not seem interested in giving you the time of day. The cleanliness of the hotel is excellent, the cleaning staff do such a wonderful job, the rooms are cleaned and fresh linen provided 6 days a week, they then spend the rest of their day ensuring all other areas of the hotel are kept spotless even chasing the leaves around on windy days. The pool bars still have pleasant staff but we miss dimos and benny who are no longer there. The entertainment is still a major let down. Yes the entertainment staff work hard during the day to organise games and activities to keep people active and they do not pester you if you just want to sunbath, but the evening activities need changing. The kids mini disco is a good idea but surely it needs to be done earlier in the evening. The adults entertainment is still the same 4 years later; bingo, music quiz, film quiz, music bingo, karaoke. Can the entertainment staff not come up with new ideas? Thank you to katerina for helping us organise our stay. The hotel has big plans for next year cannot wait to see what they are.
