Great little bar run by a real character - you won't miss him, dressed I his tartan waistcoat and sporting top notch whiskers, all topped off with his chef's hat.

Delicious local red wine, a lively atmosphere as people cram in for the few tables and chairs, or just perch at the bar enjoying the people watching.

We didn't eat but the food looked good - lots of cured meats and anti-pasti.

Barga is a great little town to spend a couple of days in, and this bar should definitely be on your list of places to visit.

The perfect spot for a really good antipasti and a glass of Prosecco! We really enjoyed it here, Barga has tons of character, as does Da Aristos owner! If in Barga- please do stop here, the food and hospitality is second to none! Grazie!

This little cafe/restaurant is open all day. We sat down to lunch at around 15:30!

Set is a pretty little square in the old town of Barga, da Aristo is a charming place with outside seating including over the opposite side to enjoy the shade.

Giovanni hosts your meal and when you see mugs for sale which include his picture and photos of amateur dramatic local performances you're not surprised. He certainly makes the place come alive!

With his little bit of English and our pigeon Italian we managed to order some quiche (rice & spelt - aubergine all sold) which was surprisingly wonderful, polenta - cheese one good although an acquired taste perhaps, and also a meat & cheese palate and some carpaccio.

Lovely vino to wash down.

A great experience for us and the children (15,13,11) although they are most of the basket of potato/wholemeal bread!

If in Barga, eat here!

After realising most of Barga had stopped serving food for the evening we were made hugely welcome at Da Aristo. Great - and I mean great - food. Served by helpful, friendly staff - and the owner is a character straight out of a book. Charismatic. Bearded. Beautiful.

I'd eat here every night in Barga if I could.
