“Coconut Bay is the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2012

We have just returned from a week at Coconut Bay and could not fault one thing. All the staff are a credit to the resort. Special mentions must go to Terrie for reorganising our friends wedding after it had to be changed due to the weather, the wedding day was fantastic, Small J and Hidy on the bars deserve special mentions as well, We upgraded to a forth floor room in Harmony and this is well worth the extra cost just for the amazing view. Special mention to Pearl though for her house keeping, she delighted us every day with her displays when we returned to our rooms, Pearl you are a star,,Also a mention to Marsaus the tour rep for his help. There may be a few jaded areas in the resort. but they are working on a revamp at this time. For anybody thinking of a visit, get it booked, you will leave totally Chilled. A Big thank you to all, amazing,,

Room Tip: Book the Sun Link tour around the island by land and sea. A long day but amazing.

My family of 30 members stayed at the Coconut Bay Resort and Spa for the week between Christmas and New Year's 3 months ago. I accidentally left a cherished heirloom diamond necklace in my safe and was delighted with the honestly and respect I received when I called the resort the day I returned home to report the loss. I was so appreciative I felt compelled to share my experience with tripadvisor.com

we spent a week here at end feb....overall we loved it, it's very relaxed, cocoland kids club is great for the children (our 1 year old twins and 2 year old had a great time)......kids pool is fantastic (if a little chilly!).... we loved our babysitter who came from kids club, so we got to enjoy a proper night out!
the food was better than i had expected after reading some negative reviews. i agree with the reviewer who said the food was a bit cold at times....i would agree (the eggs benedict was stone cold and i couldn't touch it!)....maybe a microwave would be good for those of us who prefer our food piping hot.
disappointed not to see more st lucian dishes on the menu, eg the wonderful "pepperpot"...i think they shouldn't bother with British night (beer battered fish/chips etc)....and stick to what they know best (how about some yummy goat curry on the menu too?)
the st lucian restaurant, calabash is by far the best....i didn't even realise the so called italian restaurant was meant to be Italian food! didn't try the Asian restaurant.
Buffet was overall good and pretty varied. no problem feeding the children from there!
Rooms definitely need an update, although were kept nice and clean. Would've liked some hot water though - I had a hot shower one day out of 7! never mind, a small price to pay and could live with that....had to boil a kettle though for babies' baths (managed with a shower only by bringing along a pop up paddling pool which fit inside the shower cubicle).
staff are great and very friendly - no hassling or bothering you for tips all the time, as we've experienced on other islands. the driver who took us back to airport was the only one who wasn't very professional - driving one handed (one hand on the cell phone), too fast and not very safe with 3 kids. thank goodness it's only a 5 minute ride.
proximity to the airport couldn't be better....and the planes taking off didn't bother us at all...saturday was the busiest day but apart from that only saw 2 or 3 a day.
I heard at least 5 couples (ourselves included) mention the problem of mealtimes with very young children.....lunch was from 12.30 and dinner from 6.30....which we all agreed was an hour too late as our children (and others) usually have a 7pm bedtime. so my husband and i had to dine separately so one of us could stay with the children. John, the restaurant manager, said earlier mealtimes could definitely be done, so hopefully he will be able to arrange that.
thought the evening entertainment was good, except for last saturday night - Caribbean night - it started off great with the steel band but degenerated into something that i imagine you'd have to be out of your head on drugs to enjoy.....don't know what type of "music" you could call it but i got a splitting headache within minutes and it went on (and on and on) til 10.30 unfortunately right outside my window. perhaps the live music shouldn't be right in front of the family section of the hotel!!!!
that is the only thing that would make me think twice about returning (although would definitely consider a return trip anyway).....i thought the music could be quieter and also it seemed impossible to escape music most of the day, around the pool, in the bars etc. i would like to just relax and listen to the waves/sea breeze and found the constant music a bit much at times.
but overall it is a great resort and would definitely like to return again.
by the way, Junior is a great photographer (if a bit pricey i thought at 85 US dollars for a cd) but we got some great family snaps so worth the cost.

Located on the South East portion of the Island, just 10 minutes from the airport. Other properities on the North West side near Castries is at least a 90 minute ride. Property is very well maintained, tropical plants and trees attract birds which are used to humans. They (Fog) every night at 5:30 for bugs, and there are none. We stayed on the adult side, ground floor (garden view) facing the expansive grounds and ocean. Good size room with sitting area and patio door opens on to small patio and grounds, small shower no bath. All rooms face the Atlantic. The higher floors are premium and offer a better view of the ocean. They are starting to remodel the rooms in April 2012.
The staff are fantistic and very friendly!! Huge open air Lobby with bar for those who need a break from the sun, but not the refreshments.
Food selection was reasonable, buffet style with carving station and cooked to order section. 3 speciality resturants, Creole & Asian (our favorite) above the lobby and Italian outside near the pool.
We have been to 5 islands now and this one is now at the top of the list to return.
Special thanks to John Leitao, Smally, Donna, Etto, Sherma, Dallia, Small j, and Akon -Great memories and we'll be back.

I returned for the 2nd time to Coconut Bay with my daugther in Febuary, 2012. I must say the visit surpassed my first visit. It was nice to be reconized by staff, that tells me that the staff is well taken care of by the resort and they enjoy their job... actually I felt like a celebrity lol.

ALL staff was friendly and courteous but I would like to make special mention of a few that stood out and went above and beyond doing their day-to-day job. They would be; Javid Mitchel(pool attendant) Vicki( towel hut, always greeted us with a pleasant smile ) John ( operations manager, who ALWAYS made sure we were having a great time ) Great bartenders were; Jade, Hydi, Fatta, Akon, Small J, Hamilton, Melton and Da Joker. We enjoyed the disco every night and the great dj'ing by Ritney Cox. Entertainment was AMAZING, Marcelus and Ritney were a great part of the entertainment crew. Something that was different this year, Terry.. the poolside waiter who always made sure we were kept happy with our drinks.

Yes.. people have said to me " Why don't you travel somewhere else? " and I reply with " I enjoy this resort, the people, the experience and it feels like home when I am here !!!!" What can I say, GREAT WEATHER, GREAT FOOD, WONDERFUL PEOPLE.... PRICELESS!!!!!
