Managed to snatch the last table with same day booking on a Wednesday. Thanks to GPS, it was not hard to find. Only one waiter was on the floor but his performance was brilliant. Took the set dinner menu and ordered a bottle of French red wine. The menu covered a few different kinds of fish. The chef did a great to bring out the best out of every fish, except for the last dish with wild seabass which was a bit over cooked. Love this small cozy place. Strongly recommend this anyone who like fishes.

Quiet small and discreet. 6 course set fishy menu. Set price. Perfectly cooked, interesting, colourful, beautiful presentation. Monk fish, halibut, mackerel, oysters.
Friendly and smart waiter, wooden table, small restaurant, not over crowded with too many tables like some places. Nice ambience.
Very good food, portions just the right size.
Decent wine list, pairing offered
Delicious. Lovely evening. The only downside is the loo. There is just the one, and if you have to wait for it to be free, you are opposite the door to the kitchen!

Visited with my girlfriend for our anniversary and whilst the majority of the meal (and wine pairing) was great there were a couple of elements that left us wanting more. The service was great for the most part BUT we were never offered the opportunity to give feedback. All of it was a bit presumptuous such as, "That was a great dish wasn't it?" as opposed to "Did you enjoy that?". We were never really offered the opportunity to give feedback or constructive criticism of each course. This was particularly true of the last course, which we found to be only "okay". As big dessert lovers, we were looking forward to the chocolate or salted caramel offerings that were posted on the online menu. Whilst we appreciate the menu is ever changing, we noticed the sweet course was strawberry which disappointed us both but thought we'd give it the benefit of the doubt considering the restaurant is so well reviewed and the chef is obviously talented. Unfortunately, it wasn't up to scratch compared to the rest of the meal and quite honestly, we wouldn't have booked had we known that would have been on the menu. When you're paying £250 for a meal for 2, you want to leave feeling completely satisfied. Every course built on the last but we found the dessert to be lacking. Perhaps it's personal taste but having a great (expensive) meal fall at the last hurdle does leave a bit of a sour taste and wish they would update menus as they change rather than giving false expectation and no opportunity to provide an alternative, based on what is advertised.

Where is the Michelin star? Fabulous. Best set menu I have had in a long time. Absolutely fresh, unique combinations of flavors, wonderful use of seasoning, sauces and supporting ingredients. Tranquil, unhurried and the right atmosphere to savor the chef’s creations. Price is up there - but a stand-out restaurant in to so-so Brighton scene. Recommended for gastrophiles.

The food is amazing; service extremely friendly and personalised. Beware that the menu is a tasting fixed menu. That is, you will be served five courses from the menu of the day, no choice. All fish, so not ideal for vegetarians. Not on the cheap side, but great for a nice treat. There are not many tables and it's quite popular. So if you want to book during the weekend, you need to book about 3 months in advance (at least in summer).
