Stayed 15/03/12 - 22/03/12. Really enjoyed our stay. Would have liked to rate 5 out of 5 but because of a few minor things we have given the hotel 4 out of 5. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, had to report a fault with a light bulb and a part of the shower fixing mysteriously went missing and these were sorted out immediately. E-mailed the hotel in advance to ask for sea view and, as we were meeting friends at the hotel, rooms in the same block as them, and were allocated adjacent rooms on the 4th floor in block C, which were lovely, we very much appreciate the hotel accommodating our request. The views were great, it was lovely to wake up in the morning listening the the waves on the shore. The position of the hotel was good, a nice walk available along a coastal path to the Rubicon Marina and then on to Playa Blanca centre. No problems with the food in the main restaurant, there was always plenty of choice and it was well cooked. Breakfast time was always busy, but apart from the lack of saucers for the cups and teapots without lids (a minor niggle), no complaints at all, there was a very good choice of food available. Visited the oriental restaurant and was a bit disappointed with this. Plenty of room and sun loungers around the pool. Cleanliness was generally good. Entertainment was OK, sometimes better than others. Would have been nice to have the all inclusive drinks until the entertainment venues closed at 12 o'clock, instead of the bars closing at 11 'clock causing queues at the bars from 10.45 pm - 11.00 pm. All in all a very enjoyable stay and would not hesitate to return to this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms in A, B, C and D blocks all have sea views.

I agree with most of the positive comments regarding food, accommodation and cleanliness.

The reason we would not return is the entertainment, or more to the point, the lack of it. One of the main bars, The Canaria Bar, was without any entertainment during the evening for 4 nights a week, the remaining 3 nights it wasn't exactly brilliant. We made friends and their company made the evenings, without them it would have been boring.

.we are just so relaxed after our 2nd holiday to this hotel in six months everyone at the hotel made our stay there just fantastic . we never go back to the same hotel twice but felt so relaxad and happy here we just had to do it again. it is in a fantastic location for walking to the lovely marina and if you like walking the coastal path in fab to walk along for approx 4 hours to the lighthouse and back. the spa was wonderful . the sun bathing areas were large and spacious the food was plentyful and well varied, the fish was wonderful .We had a fantastic sea view and did sleep with the balcony door open , itwas so nice to wake up listening to the sea . we would also like to thank the management for our gifts they left in our room and a letter to welcome us back to th hotel what a lovely gesture from them.if you walk out of the front of the hotel you can go to the papagayo unspoilt beaches the views are stunning.this is not a noisy hotel and with a child free green room bar in the evening for a quiet drink its perfect if you wake up in the night you can got to the grill bar for food and drink if the mood takes you.we will be returning to this hotel again very soon its clean quiet food brill, staff helpful and if you want a corner to hide in to read you will always find one. keep up the good work all at sandos papagayo thank you all.

Room Tip: if you want sunny room block a-b are good also have sea views

Long transfer but quick efficient check in and good directions to the rooms. Hotel is on several levels so it took a bit to get accustomed. Everywhere is clean, the room in B block had great sea views, sun nearly all day, and was very spacious. Food is buffet all the time and very, very good although the tables are close together and sometimes a bit hectic. Visited the Asian one night but would not bother again as many others said. The French restaurant is a la carte but we did not know anyone who went. Bar staff good all the time although entertainment was poor / average there is a choice of bars at night to suit many tastes.
Mainly the concrete promenade to the marina and Playa Blanca to the right of the hotel and the beautiful sandy beaches (over the hills) to the left. Down the road is a small complex with a childs playground, a bar and supermarket etc. Entertainment team try to keep the place going during the day.
Totally enjoyed the visit and would return.

Room Tip: Probably A B C D for sea and beach views. No noise problems when we visited.

We have never tried an all inclusive holiday before, and this did not disappoint!. A fabulous setting with beach and sea views, wonderful facilities for swimming, lounging and walking, as well as a number of sports activities. There is a beautiful and well paved walk along the coast line to the two marinas. I had read good reports on Trip Advisor concerning the food - and it was as described: plentiful, beautifully presented, something for everyone, delicious and so much of it!!!!! The staff were always helpful, attentive and hardworking.
One small niggle that I did report, the extra dining experience - with surcharge was not worth booking, the food was mediocre, poorly cooked and not quite as described, save your euros and stick with the delicious food in the all inclusive restaurant - it was superior. Overall a fab stay, and a desire to go back and experience more of the island delights. The volcano trip was amazing and not to be missed. Lanzarote is indeed a beautiful and relatively unspoiled holiday destination.

Room Tip: Ask for B,C or D block overlooking the sea - going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the sea breaking on the shore was amazing!
