Large, very clean and pleasant staff, plenty of sun beds and in a brilliant location.
However:
1. if you put your towels on the sun bed, you get a yellow sticker, like a parking ticket and your towels removed!!
2.Always long wait at Reception and our room door key was not working properly all week, even after complaining several times and no it was not put next to the mobile phone.
3.FOOD, just ok, lots of choice if you eat fish and meat but hardly any choice if not and even two soup served daily, only 3 times was one vegetarian. But fresh, hot and option for items cooked to order. Excellent choice at breakfast, although most 4* served champagne at breakfast, this one does not and no Lactose free milk just full, semi or soya milk. No porridge but a few dietary options to pick from
The tables were not cleared very fast, and long wait to order drinks at meals.
GALA CHRISTMAS DINNER!! Terrible, all looked good and staff very busy but again no vegetarian option so I had cheese, crackers and dessert. The vegetable and potatoes were STONE COLD, the turkey was not cooked, the portion they gave my family members was 95% cold stuffing and a small strip cold wet meat, you could ask for more but it was clearly not cooked and that was the end of the joint.
We complained to the hotel and they just said sorry, we will try better for New year, thankfully we were home for new year.
Most 4* I have stayed at have amazing shampoo, shower gel, soap etc in the room, no not this one just a small square of soap. We also really missed a kettle in the room and again this is standard in most 4*
The hotel rooms were not ready when we arrived at 3.30pm on our Thomas cook package holiday, this is not acceptable, they told us probably on half an hour wait and took my telephone number and said will ring us when ready, at 5pm no call so we went back and joined the long que at reception and it was ready??? Great customer service there!
Thomas cook also failed to have the bus for the transfer to the hotel ready when we arrived at the airport, the flight was on time so no excuse again in my book, a group of us had to wait a short time as they had no bus and did not know where it would be when it got there a long transfer as we dropped off all the lower star hotels off first, we should and could have been dropped first.
We travel four times a year, normally with Thomas cook, this year we have booked with another company.
It would have to be a very good price for me to return to this hotel, not all bad but a lot of room for improvement and it is nothing more than a good 3* hotel
