Rooms were nice and regularly cleaned.
Good selection of TV channels.
Rooms are noisy, especially if you have floors above.
Air con and WiFi were very good. Restaurant staff by the pool lacked chemistry with one another.
Reception staff were very helpful.

Proximity to beach is superb.
Outdoor pool is perfect for strong swimmers but lack of a shallow end was disappointing for young kids.
Indoor pool is a good alternative. Hotel is a bit too far from the main strip.

A trip to Alvor to watch the sunset is well worth it.

Our apartment D405 was fabulous - spacious with excellent views
WiFi excellent
Beach is a few steps away and is beautiful
Staff very helpful with great english
Great little shop on site selling food, drink etc

All our beds were hard and we found the pillows uncomfortable also
Breakfast very average not worth the money
Staff by the pool daily telling children off for jumping in which was a bit hideous as its a family hotel.
No animation team and no entertainment in the evening

Praia da Rocha is OK but a little too busy.
Alvor is so much nicer for restaurants and bars and only 8 euros in a taxi
Overall a very relaxing and quiet hotel

We have just spend a fantastic 6 days at Jardim do Vau. My sister, my niece, my daughter and I travelled over for a short break before they head back to school and I couldn’t recommend it enough. From the moment we stepped through the doors the staff could not have done more for us. We were upgraded to a two bed apartment as there were four of us and it was so spacious, the beds very comfy, apartments had air conditioning, beautiful views from the balcony. I had stayed here about 10 years previously and the lady at reception recognized this as soon as she scanned my passport. I would certainly recommend this as a destination worth visiting and the beach is outside the back gate. This place is magnificent.

We have never been in apartments before as have always gone B&B in hotels. This really was a good choice as it is only a 20 minute walk into the town and there are plenty of bars and restaurants and finding breakfast is not an issue which we did each day.
The location is excellent as it is not in the middle of nowhere, but it is far enough away from the hussle and bussle, so very nice and quiet. There are restaurants right by the hotel and a spar. Also the beach is a couple of steps away, and when the tide is out you can walk on the beach all the way from the hotel end right to the marina. Alvor is easily accessible by foot as well at about a 45 minute very slow walk, which we did a couple of times in the daytime.
Our apartment was D107 on the first floor, and we were lucky because although Block A was in front of us we did get a slight sea view between the buildings, not that that is by anyway essential on our holidays. I did request to not be put in Block A as a pool view is not necessary to us, but predominantly because we wanted air conditioning. Which we were grateful for as we were there when the temperature was hitting 38 degrees.
The apartment was very spacious and well equipped and the bonus of a telly with all English channels, which is a rarity on our hols - not that we spend all day watching the telly but it is good to keep up with the news. Although the bedroom backed onto the busy road at the front of the hotel, there was no noise with the windows closed as it was double glazed and with the balcony door open, air went right through to the bedroom.
The pool area was nice but again there are the people that just can't resist putting towels on beds first thing. At about 8.30 almost half have been covered, so you may stand a chance a little later to get a couple of beds but certainly not by the afternoon.
We had no food or drinks in the hotel so cannot comment on that. The safe was a good price at 1.50 euros a day. Also the free WiFi in the apartment had very good reception.
All in all an excellent place to stay and we would not hesitate to return.

Room Tip: If your not bothered about pool and sea views pick a block with air con, just in case

Lovely place to stay, Apartments are big, lots of storage. Kitchen well equipped and we were upgraded to a top floor with sun terrace. The apartments are cleaned every day. Ours was looking a little tired. The reception are friendly and helpful and speak excellent English. Unfortunately we were not advised about the pool towels or the courtesy bus when we checked in. There is an indoor pool and spa which I did not visit. There is also an on site mini shop selling a small selection of the usual goods at a good price. The breakfast was excellent, plenty to choose from, both cooked, continental and cereals. the pool bar has a daily happy hour. People do reserve sunbeds but you don't need to be up early as some were still available around 10am. They could do with more sunbeds, as after this time you will not get a bed. There are plenty of umbrellas for shade, which was definitely needed during our stay. The beach is just a few yards away and the price is €11.50 for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for all day. There are some snack bars and a few restauarants just by the beach or for a further20 min walk there are many more in Praia de Rocha. Taxi to Praia de rocha was around €5.
There is not a kids club, which was good for us, there is a pool table and a couple of table tennis tables, another pool table would be a great addition. If you want daily entertainment or a kids club then this is not the place. We wanted a quiet relaxing holiday which is what we got. Unfortunately the forest fires started whilst we were there and this caused a lot of ash to rain down over the sunbeds and on the balconies. The staff did their best to clear it up, but it was constant and they could not be faulted for this fire. Overall a lovely place to stay and I would happily return.
