We were here 5 nights and enjoyed a lot. Our room had a balgony with a sea view and was worth of money spent. Breakfast was good and selection wide although not gourmet type.

A must "to do" is walk around on the beaches. They are really interesting and unique nature attraction. Heavy rocks can fall down on your neck so respect warning signs!

Room Tip: Sea view is nice

Breakfast is fantastic with lots of choice. Location is perfect for heading down to the beach with plenty of bars and restaurants . Only downside which is no fault of the hotel, just purely down to location/space is the pool area is small and not really a lounging around the pool drinking cocktails all day. But other than that would definitely stay there again if I went to the same area.

We went to Portugal with loose plans and booked this place an hour before arriving. Check in was easy and everyone is nice. The room is huge! So comfortable, modern and clean.

Right on the beach and main location for activities.

Breakfast was awesome!! So nice it is included. They had many options and it was clean, easy to get around and not crowded. They did a great job.

Would definitely stay again and happy we found it.

Travelled as a family of 4 (2 young children). This was the first time at this hotel, however we had stayed in the area the previous year.
We arrived late morning, knowing we couldn't check in until 3pm. The receptionist was very helpful, with our bags taken to storage and information regarding the room provided. We also were given free arrival drinks at the bar which I thought was a nice touch.
The pool area is small, but sunbeds weren't an issue when we arrived. We spent much of the first day by the pool until the room was ready and it was only later in the afternoon when people turned up that sunbeds were an issue. However compared to other hotels I've stayed in people didn't tend to reserve sunbeds and many headed off in the afternoon.
As the hotel is right on the beach, most appeared to use the beach in the days than the pool. The pool is partially shaded throughout the day, losing the sun late afternoon.
We split our time therefore between the beach and the pool. The beach is fantastic, safe and clean. We reserved sun loungers on the beach for 6 euro per bed, however I think this changes depending on high season.
The hotel itself is very clean in communal areas and also the rooms themselves. The rooms were to a high standard. The only downside I felt was that the rooms were cleaned until 5pm so sometimes we returned to get ready for the evening and the room had not yet been serviced. The safety deposit box was free to use and we had fresh towels each day.
The room we had was land facing. On arrival it seemed quite loud on the balcony due to some building work behind, however the noise could not be heard from inside the room itself. In the evenings we sat outside on the balcony and the only noise we heard was from the hustle and bustle of people out and about.
The hotel is located directly on the promenade with a number of restaurants, bars and shops which does get lively at night mostly with locals, tourists. It didn't appear to be a place for party goers. We did walk down to the harbour area where there are more bars and restaurants and a good walk out to the lighthouse. There is an MTV venue located on the beach that side and a nice large outdoor bar which I believe is popular late at night.
We had bed and breakfast - the selection was good along with quality. It does get busy from 9.30am however we always found a table. The restaurant is open to the public who can purchase a breakfast buffet, however I didn't see many people getting asked for their room number before being seated.
We chose to not pay extra for the evening buffet as didn't feel it was value for money (20 euro per person, discounted for children) instead choosing to eat out locally. The snacks we purchased in the day now and again were decent value and quality.
I used the gym a couple of times which was small but not overly busy. It was sufficient to do the basics, however I would have struggled if had been there longer.
We ate in many restaurants during our stay, our favourites were the nearby Pizzeria (nice rooftop setting), Bamboo Garden and one we enjoyed having a snack/drinks at night was Spot 3 on the beach itself.
We used Slide and Splash Waterpark - this is a good day out for the family. We used a taxi instead of the bus costing around 17 euro each way. We purchased the tickets directly off the website, which was easy to do with the generation of a QR code that is scanned on arrival. This was significantly cheaper to do than purchasing via the hotel or on the day itself at the waterpark.
We would definitely return to this hotel and would highly recommend it to others. I think the main competition would be the Jupiter next door, otherwise this is very good hotel and probably the best in the area for families/couples seeking decent accommodation at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Lifts are slow, so probably aim for floors 3/4 where stairs aren't an issue.

Stayed in July 2018 travelling in a deluxe suite with sea view on 6th floor with my wife who is coeliac and has to eat gluten free. We were staying on a B&B status. The breakfast was good with a wide choice but the same each day. There was plenty of fresh fruit, bread, cheese, cold meat and the usual selection of hot dishes and egg selections. There was an abundant supply of coffee and good quality orange juice. Service was excellent and my wife was provided a selection of gluten free breads and cakes on request.

In our room we had a very large double bed and in the sitting area a comfortable couch. There were two wall mounted flat screen TVs, one for the bed area and one for the sitting area. In addition there was a fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee pod machine and a sink and work top. Air conditioning and sound proofing were also excellent. The balcony overlooked a noisy street with a beautiful panoramic view of the river estuary, beach and the rocks towards Vau. The cleanliness of the room was very good as was the rest of the hotel. Overall a fantastic 4 star hotel for families with children and couples like ourselves.

There are 2 multibank ATMs a 2 minute walk from the hotel door which give good rates unlike the multitude of EuroATM machines. There is a good small Spar supermarket about 10 minutes walk along the pedestrianised street past the multibank and Portimau has a large Pingo Doce supermarket about a 20 minute walk away.

Room Tip: Pay for the sea view room and request a high floor
