We were a little disappointed after eating here at short notice for Easter lunch.
Entree and pasta were fine, without being great, but the mains were tough work. Despite the generous serve, the lamb had a weird cloying flavour. Unlike excellent rare beef I've eaten elsewhere in Tuscany, the dish here was exceptionally chewy and served with an inedible side salad. We barely touched either.
€38pp is not cheap. By our standards, it's a 'special occasion' budget, particularly given the quality of meals we've had in the region for a third of the price. As such, we felt a little hard done by and said as such when asked how our meal was when we left (hoping, to be honest, for a gesture of goodwill on the final bill). The manager was personable enough but simply said that the meal was prepared in a traditional way, and that everyone else (primarily a few large families) ate it without complaining. Fair enough.
By all means, if you're a large family who measure success of a meal by the weight of your meat intake then I can highly recommend this place. For anyone more interested in beautifully cooked food, try one of the many other places nearby.
