We visited Puglia from 10th till 18th of May. In the hotel Valle dell'Idro we have spent 3 nights. Girls in the reception are very friedly. Room very clean. Breakfast very tasty. We stayed in the 4 hotels in the region and hotel Valle dell'Idro was the best our choice.

We spent an excellent holiday in this establishment - an airy, luminous hotel in modern Italian style. We needed a ground floor room for reasons of mobility and there are several available - ours was large and quiet and had a good bathroom with walk-in shower. No balcony but the windows are big. Lots of space to sit outside in comfort. All spotlessly clean. Buffet breakfast includes eggs cooked to order and there is a table of sweet and savoury snacks including cakes and local delicacies and cool drinks available thoroughout the day.

The highlight of this hotel is beyond question the service provided by the staff. The housekeeping staff are friendly and efficient and the reception team led by Marzia and Roberta is five-star standard. Excellent treatment during booking process and they booked us a dinner at a local restaurant for the night we arrived, and then kept in touch with us and the restaurant when our flight was seriously delayed. Also recommended and reserved tables for other evenings at our request. They were happy to facilitate excursions - arrangements were made for us to make an individual guided visit to an olive oil press with its owner, and an excellent local driver was recommended to take us to Lecce, Ostuni and Alberobello - memorable visits we could not have organised easily ourselves (there are local trains but service is not straightforward). The walk to town is not long but we did value the provision of a 3-wheeler 'calessino' service to the centre in the evenings as we hit a period of unsettled weather. Our well being was everybody's concern and we felt happy and totally relaxed here.

Beautiful white minimalist hotel, 5 mins from the old town, free on street parking outside, or 5 euros per day to park in their garage on the corner opposite. Staff were warm and generous and gave us great tips for local restaurants and a festival in a neighbouring town. Really felt that our comfort and happiness were important to them. The hot tub was fun (a little too cold in October but they very kindly offered to not charge us even though it was our choice to go up there!) and only 10 euros per person for an hour which included a glass of Prosecco each and the tub to yourselves. Recommended place. Best breakfast of our Italian trip. Great sleep to to black-out blinds...
