You don't just wander past Sugar beach. But it was well worth the journey - simply beautiful. And excellent snorkelling over the nearby wreck. Plus beautiful rooms, good food, a lovely bar/ restaurant area... We could (should!) have stayed longer

Shame on the person who wrote that bad review. This place is nothing but true Philippine paradise! Don't come here unless you want to experience utter relaxation and deem that doing nothing is total luxury. Bermuda resort is THE ideal place. Francis and Zenida along with their wonderful staff welcomed us as if we've been going there for years. It's clean, well decorated and the food is YUMMY. Their beach front has several hammocks , lounge chairs, picnic tables and a wonderful massage hut. The water is so warm you hate getting out. The restaurant and bar area is very spacious and beautifully decorated. You have the choice to eat indoors, on the terrace or on the beach. Everything we ate from, Filipino to Italian to American dishes, was scrumptious!

We were visiting family in Sipalay and had planned to stay at a resort as well. Our 20 year old son is currently living in Quezon City so he tagged along too. We booked Bungalow #2 for 4 nights. It was very clean, comfortable with a very spacious and nicely decorated bathroom. I totally got a kick out of the way the light turns on! The very friendly staff installed a mattress
on the floor for my son and we all slept under mosquito nets. My husband and son booked 2 morning scuba diving excursions at a nearby resort while I peacefully had breakfast on the beach before a wonderful 2 hour massage from Teresa (each day). Four nights was definitely not long enough and we left with heavy hearts.

We're so happy we discovered this place that we're already planning our return with our other three kids next April. Bungalow#1 for our 4 kids and Bungalow#2 for me and my husband. #1 could accommodate us all but it'll be great bonding for our children to have their own place. Both are beachfront w/electric fans which is perfect for the sea breeze to flow through these very cool Nipa huts.

We would have liked to keep this place a secret but it deserves to be discovered!!!

We arrived at Sugar Beach very grumpy after 2 days of travel (including 5 hours from Bacolod on a bus that played the same film in rotation)... Within hours our stresses slipped away! This place is beautiful - the beach is truly one of the best we have been to - incredibly clean sand like brown sugar, clear turquoise water, phosphorescence in the water at night and millions of stars. We had the cheapest room which was good for us and was right at the back of the property with an outside bathroom attached and its own balcony. The room was basic but had everything we needed - mozzie net and fan for sleeping - other than that we were hardly in it as the beach is so lovely.
The food here is yummy - breakfast was great - I think we probably ate too much it was so good and we were lucky enough to be invited to the owners birthday party while we there which was incredibly kind and a great way to meet our fellow travellers and chat a bit more.
We had a mornings snorkelling and separately kayaking all at very reasonable rates and when we weren't doing that we were soaking up rays or watching beautiful sunsets on the beach. Next door is a dive resort if you feel more energetic and there is choice of other restaurants and bars on the beach but no ATMs and no shops so bring everything you need!
Sugar beach is perfect as it's hard to get to it is much quieter than other Philippine resorts but is incredibly beautiful, clean and safe.
The owners are incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful and we would definitely go back again.

Bermuda Beach Resort at Sugar Beach, Sipalay, is nothing but a glittering, sparkling gem.

There are many attributes that make Bermuda Beach Resort lives up to this attribute;

The magically beautiful unspoiled beach. Baking powder or powdered sugar sand? The sand is like velvet, not just for your feet but also for your body and soul;
Not a stone, not a weed, not a plastic bag. And as another highlight;the crystal clear water and forgive us now, even the lack of people. It almost feels like you own this fabulous beach almost to your self. That there are not more people who have experienced this beach is some kind of mystery. A mystery that for me and Ann-Marie is very welcome to consist.

On this fabulous beach Bermuda Beach Resort is located. As a glittering little diamond. For it is surely; We have during our travels in the Philippines become quite accustomed to be happy and have a good time.
Bermuda Beach Resort contributed most to the fact that our demands increased. We had a week we will never forget. The way Francis and Zenaida with employees made us feel comfortable, there's probably not words for. And yet it was nothing special they did. It was just that extra consideration, the glorious sparkle in everyone's eyes, the wonderful food and extremely courteous way of being, that made our experience so memorable. Thanks My Len, to, among other things, that you took us to the dance festival in the village. So much fun and joy!

Thanks everyone else for making our experience to something we will talk about, not just here, but to everyone we know.

Thanks Francis for being the hybrid you are. It must be your combination of being German, French, and Swiss and perhaps for the most; your wonderful wife and partner Zenaida that has resulted in the exemplary host you are. Thank you both and all of you for your wonderful hospitality.

Often when we are in the Philippines, we say to ourselves, that when we leave a place we like ( and believe us, there is a lot of such places ) we want to come back. It is not always the case we do so. This time, however, there is no doubt that we will fix our coming back ticket.

See you next time!
Gunnar and Ann-Marie

Room tip: Do not choose bungalow number 2. That bungalow is dedicated for us only....:-)

Perfect beach with astonishing sunsets. Great fresh seafood and pancakes at restaurant. Activities including snorkeling, trekking are easily accessible.

Beach view cottages make the most out of it.

Friendly approachable staff.
