For the amount I paid to stay at this Hotel I was expecting far, far better service than what I received, to make it an easier read I have bullet pointed each of my disappointments:

• The linens were filthy and worn out, we were given 4 towels all of which were stained and one of which had several holes in it and was practically threadbare.

• The bed sheets were badly stained in several places and smelt musky/dusty which led me to believe they hadn’t been washed previously or that the room had been empty for a long time.

•The bed valance and curtains were stained with mould and other water marks.

• WIFI was promised across all 52 rooms, this is NOT the case. At the time of our stay it was not available at all in the annexe building (which has solo/double rooms), only in the family rooms (in the new part of the hotel). The staff member VERY reluctantly allowed us to change rooms, after we were persistent about it.

• During our stay, we were woken one morning to a very load noise from a fire cracker which we later found out were being set off by a staff member for no apparent reason, I can only imagine it was out of boredom...(in the photos the guy in the dark navy is the security guard, the guy in a vibrant blue is a chef, women in burgundy are restaurant staff.

• Far too many staff are lazy and sit around watching YouTube on their phones or chatting to their colleagues - see photos! There is lots of jobs they could be doing to make guests’ stays more enjoyable but there is no manager to instruct them.

• The food at the restaurant is poor. Do not eat there. We ordered fries which tasted chemically and a hamburger which was either off or was not beef as it tasted quite bad.

• Care and attention is lacking across all areas. There is no wonder most of the hotel is empty.

The staff needs to be trained. Period. Their restaurant needs better quality control. We waited 1 hr for our simple silog breakfasts and grilled tangigue. One of the plates had a fly mixed with the tocino and the waiter had the gall to imply that we put the fly there! Why would we put the effort to catch a fly and mix it with just one of the 8 plates? The dish was only P120+! One of the fish we ordered tasted stale so we returned it but another one of the staff said that since that a portion was already gone (maybe 1/4 of the fish)then it must not be that bad. Mind you, those missing portions where in 2 or 3 other plates because some of us took tiny bites to try the fish to figure out what was wrong with it. Whatever happened to the customer is always right. Then the cashier tried to guilt trip us by saying that now the kitchen staff will have to shoulder the cost of the dishes we dont want to pay for. Why cant the owner shoulder the cost for poor quality control? Why does it have to be between the unsuspecting guests versus the staff who probably dont earn that much.

Then when we asked for the manager/owner, the cashier said that the manager/owner was in a bad mood today so they did not want to bother her/him. They will just "manage" it themselves. Unbelievable. In the end, they did not charge us for the one tocilog plate with fly and one of the fish. We didnot bother bringing up that the rest of us who also ordered tocilog probably had that fly's essential juices and oil mixed in our tocino as well. Ew.

This hotel/restaurant obviously providers much needed employment for the residents of the area so I dont want it to close down. It is located centrally and the view of the beach from the restaurant is nice and relaxing. But please please invest in your staff and train them better. Invest in the residents of sipalay so they can be world class leaders and employees. The very poor handling of our unfortunate event discourages us from coming back. And remember, word of mouth is also a great form of advertisement.

Big rooms
Beachfront/nice sunset
Free parking
Local market is just in front of hotel's reception.
Free Wi-fi
Hotel staffs are friendly, super friendly especially the 2 staffs who showed us the room made several stops everytime they would see their other colleagues (no exageration) to have a chitchat but they are nice.
Restaurant closes at 7pm but is happy to wait and accommodate your orders if you tell them in advance (before 7pm).

There were some hair strands under the comforter (very obvious they haven't changed them).
Bathroom is always wet and looks like they haven't cleaned. Really disgusting. The bathroom drainage is open. Imagine using a public toilet in a bus terminal.
There is a tv, that is if you don't mind getting dizzy watching on blurred monitor and very poor reception.
The hotel reception is dark (perfect for halloween with no efforts needed).

We arrived here just on time for a picture-perfect sunset. We just needed a night to stay with a parking since it's getting dark and going to Sipalay was originally not in our itinerary. The staffs are nice and very laid back, so you would need a bit of your patience and understanding if you are used in a fast environment. This hotel has a lot of potentials considering the location and their competitors, it just needs some maintenance and a whole lot of cleaning!

Hotel within Sipalay. Just beside their market. Very accessible and convenient. Rooms are nice. You can request for a room with a seaside view. The Hotel has a nice pool where you can dip or do a lapping. You may also want to go out from the hotel stroll along the street and go to the beach which is located at the back of the hotel. From there you can find locals that cooks fresh foods. Grilled and soup mainly fish. You can have a few shots of beer or you can bring your own wine. There are so many things you may do when your in Sipalay. You may enjoy the view, their food. You can go island hopping for 3 hours (3500php-10pax) or you can go to sugar beach enjoy you lunch and return back before the sun sets down and enjoying you boat ride back.

Jamont Hotel is strategically located along the beach front. Its pristine sand and refreshing breeze is very relaxing. Lunch at La Veranda is good. The service is excellent however, the place needs complete renovation as it is already showing the strains of time. We were not able to see the rooms as we were on a day visit only. But will still consider visiting again.
