Fabulously appointed and well located holiday home - brilliant for families. All amenities are well catered for - TV, wifi, great family kitchen, large living room. Amazing view from the uppermost bedroom!!
We were 2 couples, one with a teenager, one with a labradoodle pooch. Plenty of room for us all. Bedrooms large enough, bathroom on middle floor sufficiently large enough to accommodate us.
Kitchen / diner area (basement level) easily large enough for us to cook / eat as a family.
The back yard, while providing a well needed parking place, is still large enough to eat al-fresco - it is also a bit of a Sun trap - bonus!
Best kept secret? Longrock is not the 'go to place' in Cornwall - it's not cool (Newquay?) / funky / arty (St Ives?), nor so pictursque as most of the rest of the county.
This is a good thing. It doesn't get rammed out like all the other cool places to go, and consequently doesn't suffer the traffic and overcrowding problems.
This leaves you to enjoy one of the few dog friendly beaches in Cornwall - which itself is stunningly beautiful on sunny days with views across the entire Mount's Bay - St. Michael's Mount - Penzance - Newlyn and depending on which bit you're on, Mousehole.
Beach - 5 minute walk - very popular for kite-surfing / wind-surfing and dog owners.
Marazion - 20 minutes walk - beautiful - great beach, great eateries (Godolphin).
Penzance - 20 walk in the other direction - Good shopping, good restaurants.
Mousehole - 15 minute drive / 30 minute bike ride - picture postcard village with a beautiful harbour beach (safe for the kids)
St.Ives - 20 minute drive (use the 40 minute bus from the stop opposite)
Mexico Inn - 1 minute stagger (!!) - great atmosphere, again, dog friendly, stunning food / menu with great staff. Fabulous venue for 'back from the beach 'snifter' before cooking dinner :-)
If you've stuck this far, you'll deduce that as well as loving Cornwall, we really enjoyed our stay at Gladstone Terrace! I really shouldn't be doing this - I'd like it to be available next year......
This is just an amazing place to stay. Great location for exploring this amazing part of Cornwall.
We had a few difficulties with the toilet in the first couple of days but Hannah and her brother were brilliant in solving it and we were given a voucher for the Mexico Inn (which is also fabulous).
The house is spacious and has everything you could possibly want. The views from the attic bedroom- awesome.
We absolutely loved it and would definitely return.
Loads of great places to visit- Sennens Cove and from there a lovely walk to Lands End.
The house as I said in a great location for shops and the beach. You must visit St Michael's Mount.
All in all a great week. Great home. Great location. Thank u
