My friend and I traveled to Le Gosier from Feb 15 – 25, 2023 and used Residence Turquoise as our base. Residence Turquoise was perfect for our needs – their two-bedroom unit was spacious, well maintained, had a well-equipped kitchen, and a lovely view. The manager (Aurelie) was unfailingly helpful and kind, and gave us useful hints and tips. The beach is about a 5-minute walk and offers great swimming and a variety of local restaurants. There are several small grocery stores, a fruit/vegetable shop and a boulangerie within easy walking distance. The Friday night market in Le Gosier offers local foods and handicrafts.
We decided we didn’t want the hassle of renting a car. While having a rental car would increase one’s flexibility to take off and explore, we managed quite well without one. We walked all over Le Gosier and took advantage of the local bus to explore Saint Anne. Le Gosier is centrally located, and makes a good base from which to access Pointe a Pitre and explore both Grande Terre and Basse Terre. We made use of local taxis (to visit the ACTe Museum and the Carnaval parade) and local tour company Coeur des Iles to explore the island. (Coeur des Iles has an in-person representative at the Zenitude Hotel most mornings.) We made guided day trips with Coeur des Iles to different parts of Guadeloupe. Our local taxi driver recommended by Residence Turquoise was also excellent.
In sum, Residence Turquoise was lovely and well located, the locals were kind and welcoming, the beaches were perfect for swimming and we had a great experience!
