It is accurate to report the frequent and sometimes unscheduled water cuts that take place in Guadeloupe.
These cuts are beyond the will of our establishment, since it is the public service of water which suffers disturbances preventing the permanent supply of water to the homes of Guadeloupe.

Nevertheless, at our expense, at the beginning of November 2018, we put 2 water tanks equipped with a superpressor in order to store and diffuse the water continuously in each of the apartments of our residence.
For the comfort of our customers, we felt it was important to make this expenditure, and today we no longer have a water problem in our residence.

First off, I'd like to have given this a good review rather than average - as I felt it was good, but not very good. We also stayed when reception was closed but the stand-in receptionist did tell us this was due to the usual receptionist being hospitalised so you do have to cut them some slack.

Check in was fine - it was our first time in Guadeloupe so I was a bit surprised to be shown the bottled water stash in the kitchen, toilet and bathroom just in case the water was shut down - in fact it wasn't during our 7 day stay. I was also a bit surprised that the apartment had metal shutters at the front balcony (we were first floor) that we were told to shut at night and when we went out and also some manual shutters to the back doors.

My fault but when I'd booked, I hadn't realised I hadn't booked the room to be cleaned - so we had to dry towels ourselves on the balcony and ask a cleaner that we bumped into for more toilet roll - I mean surely the apartments could provide more than one roll! There wasn't anyone on reception at all save for the day after we checked in so we couldn't have asked reception to help with any problems. I've also never stayed anywhere that has a note asking you to clean the room before departure or pay for it to be cleaned - I'm not sure if something was lost in translation here and it just meant don't leave dirty dishes in the sink rather than imply they wanted you to do a proper deep clean of the room!

There were no dishcloths, no hairdryer and bizarrely, an iron but no ironing board - plus the shower only had 6 water jets (yes, I counted) working so despite it being hot every night, showering was a bit of a dribble of water!

On the plus sides - the view is amazing, the rooms are comfortable and were clean, tho they do look a little dated now, Wi-Fi was good and fast, the apartments are in a great location - a few minutes to the beach and also to the high street and it does have a lot more of a local feel to it than the resort we stayed in for our second week. The Friday night market is well worth a visit. Plus it is very reasonably priced.

In all, yes we are glad we stayed, we enjoyed our stay but there are a few glitches that could be easily sorted.

This is a hotel residence in a convenient location in Le Gosier. Our first two days were uneventful and pleasant. The hotel is located across from the ocean and has a spectacular view. On the third day however we had no water. Little did we know that the water on Guadalupe is shut off based on a schedule every 7 or 8 days for about 18 hours. It would have been nice to know this. Also, when the water was turned back on, our toilet began to leak. In addition, the batteries in our air conditioner remote ceased to work after the first day. Because the staff were on vacation during the week we were there, there was no one to help us. We made the best of the situation, but I would not likely go back to this hotel. We did not realize there would be no towel service or any other supplies such as toilet paper. We utilized the nearby tourism office to find a grocery store. And we only found the tourism office by accident! Richard and Levea of the tourism office were so very helpful.
That said, the room was comfortable, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. I loved the area and the local people were so friendly. We typically like to use more local accommodations rather than big touristy resorts. When you do, you have to expect some problems.

Thank you for your comment on our residence, and thank you for saying that the sea view was spectacular, and that our apartments were comfortable.

I still specify that the person responsible for the residence was not on vacation, but she was sick and hospitalized, that is why you had the closed reception on your arrival and during your stay.

We are a small residence of 7 apartments with one person on site. We did our best to organize very quickly in her absence, so that the reception opens as soon as possible.

If the reception had been open during your stay, we would have solved the same day your problem of A/C and toilet paper.

The reception is working normally since Sunday, December 16, 2017, which was the day before your departure, and we were able to discuss together that day of your stay (and we have of course replaced your remote control A/C!), and difficulties in Guadeloupe because of the public distribution of water.

We are sorry that the residence did not bring you any satisfaction but it was an exceptional situation of closing the reception, this problem is now solved.

We are delighted that the island of Guadeloupe has pleased you, and you send us our sunny greetings!

The balcony view was perfect. Took photos every day. Actually had to will myself away from the view, it was so beautiful. The room had a kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. In addition, plates, silverware, pans, etc. The kitchen space came in handy as restaurants closed early and I wanted to eat on my balcony. Beatrice was kind and helpful. No elevator, and Guadeloupe requires a lot of walking-- very hilly walk to beach, so prepare to get a workout.

Due to a medical emergency, we contacted Residence Turquoise to cancel our reservation. We did this 48 hours in advance of our three-night reservation. We received a rude and almost instantaneous reply, "No!" Beware: their policy is seven days' advance deadline to cancel, unlike most hotels.

We also had to cancel our last night's stay at Majesty Palm in St. Francois. When we explained the situation to the owner, she reimbursed us for the last night reservation.

Hi, Thanks for your review. Our reply was note rude, we just applied the policy that you accepted when you did your booking. How could we check that you had a medical emergency? In the mean time, when you cancel a reservation, as we have only 7 apartments, we loose 15% of our revenue. Do you think it is acceptable to loose 15% of our revenue during the high season. Usually, when you need an insurance or cancellation, ou accept to pay a higher price. Our policy is seven days' advance deadline to cancel, like most hotels in Guadeloupe, and in France. Kind regards.
