Due to a medical emergency, we contacted Residence Turquoise to cancel our reservation. We did this 48 hours in advance of our three-night reservation.We received a rude and almost instantaneous reply, "No!" Beware: their policy is seven days' advance deadline to cancel, unlike most hotels.
We also had to cancel our last night's stay at Majesty Palm in St. Francois. When we explained the situation to the owner, she reimbursed us for the last night reservation.
Hi, Thanks for your review. Our reply was note rude, we just applied the policy that you accepted when you did your booking. How could we check that you had a medical emergency? In the mean time, when you cancel a reservation, as we have only 7 apartments, we loose 15% of our revenue. Do you think it is acceptable to loose 15% of our revenue during the high season. Usually, when you need an insurance or cancellation, ou accept to pay a higher price. Our policy is seven days' advance deadline to cancel, like most hotels in Guadeloupe, and in France. We didn't rent a car. We lived as if we were retired in Guadeloupe. The room was clean and we had a beautiful view from our balcony-we ate most of our meals there. The Wifi was excellent. Beatrice, the building manager, got us a cab from and to the airport. The grocery store was within walking distance. The local grocers sold liquor and beer also. It's a short walk to the best beach I've ever walked and there is a very nice public park and pier the other side of the beach. There's lots of restaurants to choose from in t he immediate area. The bathroom could use a reno, but quite functional, nonetheless. We'd go back.

Yes, our bathrooms are functional, but small and they could be more elegant. What makes the renovation complicated is that it would be necessary to close the entire residence to do the work, and it is not easy to find a reliable company In Guadeloupe to do the work quickly and on time. Oui, nos salles de bains sont fonctionnelles, mais petites, et elles pourraient être plus élégantes. Ce qui rend la rénovation compliquée, c'est qu'il faudrait fermer toute la résidence pour faire le travail, et il n'est pas facile de trouver une entreprise fiable en Guadeloupe pour faire le travail rapidement et en respectant les délais de travaux convenus. Mais c'est un projet que nous avons dans les cartons et nous ferons une communication en temps utile lorsque nous prendrons cette décision. We stayed at in an efficiency. We had a perfect view of Isle de Gosier, short walk to the beach, and Beatrix, who lives there kept us well stocked with fresh towels, supplies and what we needed. What you don't see in the picture, is that between the residence and the ocean is a very busy main road which always has traffic. The benefit of this if there was one, was how close we were to fresh bread, good coffee and restaurants. We did pick up on the smell that was described in some of the other reviews, but it wasn't constant and it may also have been the tide. It was also helpful to read that there were stairs no elevator. Up was harder than down with our luggage. The view was so nice we got past the distractions, and the price fit our budget. We did have internet at first but the connection got really slow when the place filled up.

Location is very good if you do not have a rental car, we stayed just over two weeks and only had a car the last few days. Beatrice is very helpful and friendly (her assistant Lollipop is adorable!) There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance - Le Bord De Mer is the best, and L'Affirmatif is great for a drinky on the way back. Beach is only 5 mins walk, and Gosier has plenty of shops. Get supplies form one of the three bakeries to take onto the beach. Public buses will take you to other villages, or to Pointe a Pitre very easily and cheaply. However to really experience Gwada you do need a hire car.
The appartment was spacious, clean, good aircon and a lovely view.

We stayed at Residence Turquoise for a week with 5 people (3 adults and 2 kids). Great location in the middle of Le Gosier with walking distance to bakeries, shops, weekend market and beaches. We had 2 bedrooms with fully stocked kitchen, A/C in every room that controlled separately, shower and restroom. You could take a boat to the island right in front of you for a nice day trip. The owner was very nice, helpful and spoke English. The only 2 things that kept it from getting 5 star review were: no elevator so consider this if you have any elderly people with you or have hard time walking up and down the steps and parking was on the street which was hard to find a empty spot sometimes.
