The location is directly on the beach and about 15 - 20 min away from the airport (25-30 EUR transfer).
After going through the security gate there's a small reception area on the left and then the expansive hotel divided into about 2 / 3 blocks. The rooms were surprisingly quite large for the base option and the bathroom almost as large as the main bedroom area.
The room came equipped with the typical accessories, TV, AC, wardrobe, desk and mini-fridge but no iron/ironing board. They will allow you to use a spare room that's for ironing, late check-out shower etc. On the topic of late checkout.. their check-in time is 3PM and the check-out is 11AM. As our flight was at 6, I asked to see if we can have a later check-out maybe around 12:30 but the the best the could do is 11:30.
Breakfast was included in the price as well and it was a very good buffet breakfast and excellent service from the staff there during that time. Also the view was amazing from the terrace by restaurant overlooking the sea and pelicans flying by.
Despite the beauty of the overall property, they're a few issues that need addressing.
It's clearly an older property and needs some attention to detail and renovations including some of the doors that have literally started to deteriorate.
The elevator on our blocked stopped working on the day of our departure. So had to go down 2 flights of stairs .... 4 times to get the suitcases down.
The general surroundings need attention.... overgrown grass by the games area, an empty pool table... no balls or sticks.
There was no way to get a drink or snack after breakfast. There was a bar by the pool which had a private function so wasn't possible to go there. Tried by the buffet restaurant and was told it's not possible to get anything unless I was all-inclusive. Finally found an area outside with drinks and few juices which others were using as self-service. So managed to get a drink there ... until 5 min later a lady from the restaurant apparently walked all around to find us to say no I need to pay for that. I have no problem with paying for the juices but at least know where to direct guests when they ask a question.
Suitcase room by reception fills up early. We managed to get our luggage in early but many others were turned back as it's not much space. So be prepared to pull around your luggage after you have to leave the room early.
Lastly, just a minor thing. If you're working at the front desk and you charge 3 EUR for a room tax... and you're given 10 EUR.... if you need to go look for and then use a calculator to figure out the change then maybe you're not in the right profession.
Overall it not a bad hotel for the price but if in Guadeloupe again for sure will try a different location.
