We enjoyed a really lovely dinner here. Plus the breakfast in the morning was a great English breakfast. The wait staff are excellent.

On entry sent to the bar, lovely service with a chatty man in there who looked after us well. Food order taken in the nice bar area, decor was lovely and nice environment for a drink.

Moved to restaurant after and asked for more drinks, said of course and then the server disappeared and didn't come back. Bread came and was lovely but still no drinks! Main courses came, small portions but lovely. Disappointed that the roast chicken was advertised as coming with Yorkshire puddings and it didn't, we were going to ask to have them sent out but as no waiter ended up coming back to the table at any point during the main course we were unable to do so. Meaning we all spent our main course with only water to drink...

Desserts also lovely food, were able to order more drinks at the same time as the desserts so finally able to drink something. Again very small portions for dessert but classy, just not sure how they can justify the cost for a dessert that is largely comprised of a handful of strawberries and meringue.

Must also add that we were the only people having lunch at this time so not sure how they'd cope at all on a busy afternoon or evening! All in all, chef is fantastic but being let down by the serving staff. Don't begrudge the prices of it if the service could be upped to match the food and wonderful surroundings.

We were staying as a group at the hotel and booked in late for dinner. We were given a separate, candlelit room to eat as a group. They catered to a variety of dietary needs, including vegan/vegetarian and gluten free. The food was beautiful, especially the risotto.

Can't fault the food in anyway here as it was perfect but staff are misinformed of what they are actually serving bringing food to the table and announcing the dishes completely wrong. We had trout and it was brought to us as salmon. I know mistakes are made but there was only four choices for each course surely they should of been prepared before hand. Bread was delivered to our table then taken to the next table then back again to ours, drinks ordered were wrong, it was just a bit of a let down considering this was such a nice restaurant in such a nice setting you would think it would run smoothly.

Arrived at 5;15 for a couple of drinks and a bar meal. Took 35-40 mins for the food to arrive after ordering and they got 2 of 5 megs wrong. After waiting that long we just accepted these meals. The quality of the food was really very good, especially the haddock chowder. In fairness, the the bill arrived they had discounted the two incorrect meals. It is also worth nothing that the views are utterly stunning - looking directly over a precipitous valley. I will go back as everyone can make a mistake and they did do their best to make amends
