We ate here about a year ago and although we had a nice meal/evening, tonight was even better.

The young lady that initially served us was really friendly and explained all of the specials as well as helping me choose a new gin to try - lemon drizzle - what a winner!

All the food was delicious, particularly the chorizo parcels and the cheese balls.

The young lad (think his name was Adam) who took over from our initial server after she must have finished her shift was super friendly and made sure we'd had a nice meal and just made our evening really pleasant.

Couldn't fault Casa Ruiz and hope the standards stay as high for our next visit.

We were taken to this restaurant by our daughter and what a hidden gem it is. A small intimate restaurant, great atmosphere, and very attentive staff. We chose around 7 dishes from the menu and they were served very quickly. They were all superb, especially the meatballs. Well worth a visit, we shall definitely be returning.

We finally booked in at Casa Ruiz and boy am I glad we did!
It's a little hidden away but after a phone call with a delightful member of staff, they ventured out to the highstreet to find us.
Upon entering, i felt as though I had been transported to Spain, this small, quirky restaurant really does have such an incredible atmosphere; from the uplifting music, to the flags and sombreros!
The staff, who were extremely well presented in uniforms with their own individuality shining through, could not have been more helpful, they knew the menu knowledge and were more than happy to assist where need be, they were attentive despite the number of tables they had to see to. It was service with a smile from beginning to end!
The food itself was outstanding! They catered to most dietary needs and it did not disappoint, the portions were slightly large but at the end of the evening the hostess kindly offered to package it up so we could take some of it home. This little treasure with its amazing home cooked food really does go above and beyond!
Thanks Casa Ruiz, we will be back soon

We felt completely ignored all night and had to wait 25 minutes between dishes, we were told they were short staffed when we arrived, but when we arrived in restaurant and there were only 3 tables including one large one. The table next to us didn’t receive all the dishes they ordered but they had still finished their meal before we had received our first hot dish (despite that table not having ordered anything when we arrived). A table of two who arrived after us had also finished their meal 20 minutes before we had our last two hot dishes. (We only ordered 4 hot dishes) We were not asked once if we’d like another drink never mind a dessert, eventually we stopped waiting for the bill and paid and the bar. We were not asked if we’d enjoyed our meal, if everything had been ok or thanked for our custom...
